With a message like that he must be a messenger from the reservation.

I like the message. Maybe with our economy in the toilet we should stop trying to run the world. What's wrong with it? What's your point?

Okay then why is Obama spending a week in other countries if the economy is in the toilert and you think we should just hole up let everyone else fend for themselves. I'm all for that as long as none of my tax money goes to any other country or region. If we are not the police of the world fine with me but then we should not be the doc or nurse or social worker, or globe piggy bank either. China has money as they are smart and don't spend it all so let them be the soft touch of the world. Guess that is my point.

I did not say hole up and forget the world. Why did you say that? For me, its a long walk from running things and doing nothing.

Obama visiting other countries is cheap compared to military action. Hope that works, tho war has saved our economy before, and made the rich way richer to boot. At the expense of many lives.

With all due respect, these threads just make me shudder. Isn't there a good political debate forum out there somewhere?

Just curious,
Justin

Keep it up, Justin.

You could see even fewer people here.

Sheesh!

Well you see, my goal was never to see how many people I could get crammed onto web servers. My goal was to build a community where folks could get to know each other and share common interests... more specifically, share their knowledge of common interests.

I'm still not sure these forums are conducive to that goal. But less than 1% of the population on our island even visits these forums. I'd like to see that change for the better... and don't think that most folks find it appealing when they come in here and see one in ten posts are about politics.

My apologies if I'm injecting too much of my personal interests into Sploofus policy. For example, I'd be elated if one in ten posts was about astronomy.

Politics is simply a polarizing topic. I'm not banning it - I'm just hoping to see more posts about the arts, science, and history of our world and the things in it, not so much endless discourse on those that run it.

Hope that makes sense,
Justin

Justin, you asked us to play nice. We are.

BTW politics is not necessarily polarizing. For example, Donna and I do not agree on much, but our exchanges are not close to polarizing.

Yeah, art, Sandy, not so easy to discuss on line. FYI I live in Dali country - museum abopuit an hour away, chateau, residence nearby too. Prolific artist, but a little too bizarre for me.

I see no problem in Joe Biden being honest. I don't recall any honesty in the trillions of dollars which we now know was a deliberate blunder. Especially, since Sadeem Hussein's told U.S. federal agents in 2004 that he allowed the world to believe he had weapons of mass destruction because he did not want to appear weak to Iran (slam dunk. right ?) That small country was turned upside down looking for them yet the decision was mad to go.
There were no links to Osama bin Laden, the zealot, or links to Al Queda according to declassified accounts of the FBI's 20 interviews and five casual conversations. 6 months into a presidency after decades of voodoo economics, and a Party of No, a quitter, and multiple Congressmen having sexual excursions on your tax dollars; that's what I call being in the toilet. At least the Obama administration is trying to work it out without becoming war profiteers for their buddies or build Military Industrial Complexes..

I told you that before, Linda. Osama bin Laden did not even consider Sadeem Hussein a true Muslim because Sadeem gassed his own people.

Justin, this thread is causing me to shudder too. Also, thank you for the vote of confidence on the red shoe. That means a lot to me coming from you.
Beverly
