I REALLY do nut understand some folks. What pleasure do they get from sending you a 'nasty' message about your quiz. I have taken some quizzes i did not particularly care for but have sent no comment at all rather than something hurtful. I NEVER rate anyone's quiz low because I did not score well. i get so many nice comments but the comment that said 'This quiz is Cr--" is most likely the one that will stick in my mind. Just had to get that out-Linda

Linda, I feel your complaint! I've had more nice messages sent about my quizzes, but that one that told me I should be writing my quizzes a different way sticks out in my head. That's all they said too, nothing about enjoying it. Just your questions have too much information in them and they should be written differently. I didn't think that was extremely mean, but yet, not very nice either. So, to make a long thread short, I totally agree with you!

Until yesterday I had had nothing but wonderful comments about my quizzes. The one that is up in the top 25 now - Candy of my Youth - got tons of wonderful notes: "fun quiz", "Oh, I remember those (and then a story to go with that", "thanks for bringing back memories", etc, etc.

And then yesterday it happened. Got a message that said "too much to read...mostly nonsense".

I really feel like taking out a hit. I don't know why people do that!

Thanks for your replies -sent that individual a note saying there were many other authors along with the suggestion that he/she takes their quizzes not mine (one of those who does not give name, sex, age, or anything else in the profile) so watch out you guys-Incidentallaly IT scored 10%-cannot believe that could be the reason for the comment lol-Linda

I truly don't get this stuff. Why would anyone waste their time sending a cruel note to someone this way? Ugh. Sorry this happens to anyone!

I have been very lucky and haven't received anything unkind. Today I got a PM about my most recent quiz... and all that appeared were three lines of nonsense ("ddajgajsdfgtt..."). Kinda funny... but why?

My hat's off to anyone who writes a guys are great! I rarely post a message after I take a quiz, but if it really strikes me as extra-fun, I do. Should reply more often to let you all know you're appreciated!

I agree. I've gotten some nasty notes also. Another thing I don't care for is when a person sends me a note that they rated my quiz low because they scored low. If they knew all the answers then they wouldn't learn anything. That's what its all about!

What gets me is too hard or too easy, you can't win. If everyone knew all the answers it would be very boring.

Just a comment from the peanut gallery. In 1910 Theodore Roosevelt gave a speech called " The Man in the Arena" . Here's a famous excerpt from that speech:

I also have been on the recieving end of these kind of people, at first it did upset me, but the nicer and positive comments far outweigh the bad.
On some of my Quizzes that have perhaps required a little more research (Not the lyrics Quizzes etc) I have had messages just stating "Needs Improvement" while the messenger has not gone into any details why they think that.
I have messaged them back asking them if they would elaborate, so I have a few pointers for any other quizzes I may do, with no reply.
Surely if they can find the time to message you in the first place, they could at least include a reason why they think the Quiz needs improving?
