As a dweller in Manhattan I can safely say I have not encountered the urban crime referred to in the article that follows. But
reading my New Yorker a week or two late I found the ideas included here fascinating.
I do not know if the material presented is fair and unbiased; I found it a fascinating and surprising read.

(It is possible you may have to register on the New Yorker site to read this article about how to reduce urban crime by persuasion not 'stuff them and cuff them')


(Just for the record: I do not think there is a political slant in this material. I'm not putting it forward to provoke political debate. I just thought it was a well-written and fascinating article)

Good article, but when a few cops are bent, bet it does not work so well.
