WTHAI

If the tiles on Where the Heck Am I and Who the Heck Am I really fall into place randomly, ("the pieces will slowly fall into random places at random intervals.") then why is the vaguest tile removed first and most specific last? Or am I just being paranoid? For example, on the current "Who," there are five tiles left. Four of them cover the face. If the only outlier falls next, I'd say that's not very random.

I have no problem with revealing tiles from vague to specific, but remove the line that claims that it's random.

Now, I'll have my morning coffee and quit nitpicking.

One of the few Wheres I solved, (lifetime: 3 wheres, no whos) came because a giveaway tile came up first and I was on.

But think about it. When an easy tile shows early, someone solves it soon, and the next puzzle comes up, often without you seeing that one. If, on the other hand, uninformative tiles show first, the puzzle stays up for hours, and everyone gets to enjoy and agonize over the thing. So even if it's random, you see more of the ones where the early tiles weren't helpful.

Excellent analysis. Paranoia cured. Thank you.

What I don't understand is how someone takes one of those "vaguest" tiles and guesses correctly. This morning's one exposed tile could have been the edge of the storage shed in my backyard. All that was exposed was a bit of roofline against a blue sky. How does someone look at that and think "Oh, that's Troldhaugen Norway." I get so frustrated that I don't feel like even trying.

Must be the same way somebody looks at a word puzzle and solves all five without revealing a single letter, spooky ain't it ? We mere mortals aren't worthy.

I can't even get them when ALL the tiles are removed and a hint is entered.

So how do you do on the WR and WM (and tournaments) Clevercloggs?
Those fixed too? (Same guys always win --can't be because they are smarter...could it?)

Play nice, boys. You're both outliers on the upper end of the IQ curve. Now quit trying to out-lie one another.

Or as a friend used to say, "Have a nice day, unless you've made other plans."

Barry, just because you put up a "smiley" face does NOT make your snooty remark more endearing.

I'm sorry that comment came out badly. I did not mean to demean clevercloggs -- nor to imply that i was good at either activity. I apologize for the implication -- it was not intended. Clevercloggs and I have been chatting about the subject and it was not intended to read the way it did.
I agree with you about smileyfaces --a point we all should bear in mind!

Not a problem my friend, no offence taken.
