Yep! It just happened to me. A good round lost. So what's up with that. anyway?

There was discussion of this on a previous thread. Apparently, words with apostrophes in them trigger a "wrong answer" response in the program because it doesn't match what's in the program. (I think). Perhaps other symbols do the same thing. Annoying isn't it? especially with a nice fast round. Bad enough to get them wrong; but to get them right/wrong really hurts.

Same here-happened once last night and twice this morning-and Linenlady is right-it involves words with apostrophes.

Definitely frustrating to see a 21 sec round with that apostrophe issue keeping you from the #1 spot. :D

I know nothing about computer programming but hopefully it's an issue that will be easily repaired.

Thanks...I brought it up before, and thought it would be easy to fix. Maybe not...if someone has to go through the entire word round list. I just got two more this morning. Sploofus, would it help to send a list of these? It is frustrating when it ruins a winning score. Thanks

Specifically, this is what is happening when the correct word has an apostrophe in it:

(This example is made up; not from a real Round.)

Let's say that the correct answer, which you indeed selected, is "Aardvark's revenge." Sploofus will count your answer as wrong. The message you receive back from Sploofus will say, "Aardvark's revenge. You said Aardvark/'s revenge." (But, the slash would be the reverse of my slash. I can't do the other slash on my keyboard.)
