Attending my grand daughters' pre-school graduation program tonight my daughter informed me two sploofers were in the house. I walked up to the couple and said "Excuse me sir, have you ever heard of a game-site called sploofus?", whereupon his wife Tracy(aka Violetblue) exclaimed "I know're oogie, I recognize you from your picture!" They are a charming couple with three adorable children, and it was a pleasure to meet. Which got me thinking how much fun a convention would/will be...getting to meet sploofers in person. Glad to have met Mcpop and Violetblue so far.....

Sat, 13th May '06 2:22 AM that Oogie says it...I'm sure it will happen.

What happened to the convention Sploof? I would relish the opportunity to meet some of the Sploofusers (I promise I will be on my BEST authorities involved).

So Oog...was Violet really blue or just blueish?

:0) Chick

The real question here is: do McPop and VioletteBlue have a Sploofbrand on their foreheads? How did your daughter know they were Sploofers? Is there a secret aura given out by those addicted to Sploofing? This is getting scary........

Actually, it is a new pheromone scent that is available. Only true Spoofaddicts can detect it, which is why I'm sure they stood out to each other.

How cool that you were at their daugter's graduation - I know they must have been as proud as you were of your granddaughter. My son will be graduating from PreK in mid June - school gets out much later here in the Northeast We are excited - Kindergarten here we come!

We have met Tuzilla - Steve only lives about 60 miles from us. He came down to Battle Creek to watch our "A" ballteam beat his "A" ballteam. It is kewl to meet people. Joel and I met by playing cards on line - so good things do happen to those who meet on line - we are living proof.

They both knew the secret handshake, and noticed the "I Sploof" tatoo on my forehead right away. Violet is more blonde than Blue....

Wow, this would be SO fun. I feel like I have made so many new friends. Luvnmexsun and I have been trying to connect (we're 35 miles apart), but haven't managed yet. Maybe next weekend.

Just to refresh the memory. This is how it all started. I hope that there will be many more after Chicago.

Well, we have two (known) Sploofers in our small village pub. Reckon we might have the 'percentage of population' title?
I bet we win the 'pints of beer drunk on a Friday night per Sploofus' competition each week??!!

If the opportunity ever arises, I'll take you up on that challenge!

Wish I could attend the Chicago Sploofention, but I'll be stuck tending the office while the manager is away on a cruise during that time. We're gonna hafta shoot for a Southern git-ta-gether down this here way.

Oogie, a southern convention sounds like a fine idea...

Atlanta, Orlando, Daytona...

Name it and let's make it happen!

I'm in the Pacific Northwest but I'm about 250 miles from Portland. I haven't seen Deeder on here lately but she is near Portland.

I'm up for anywhere but would love to see something in the South as I have never been there.

I'm also going to have an Idaho Sploofus Death Float in August of 07 for anyone interested in joining us. (called Death Float because a friend of mine from Alaska thought she was going to get bitten by a snake and/or drown on her first float. The truth is, the water is so low in places you must lift up your butt or you'll be sporting a bruise and the water so slow there are some places we have to paddle or we will end up going upstream. We may hit, from time to time, some class 3 riffles but that's it. I have 4 man blow up rafts, and blow up floating coolers that tie on. Its a good 8 hour float in the sunshine & water.)

That sounds stunningly wonderful, Lodi! Count me extremely interested. We have something similar here, called "tubing" and done in oversized inner tubes. We do it in natural springs and rivers that maintain a comfortable temperature pretty much year round. Complete with occasional butt-bumping and paddling. There are stretches of the same waterways reserved for lazy canoeing and wildlife-watching. I prefer it about a ton more than the beach.

Big John and I have been talking about an out-west vacation for years, and we have friends we want to visit in Oregon, so I'm very much interested in the Death Float.

Haven't checked out Idaho...but I LOVE POTATOES!

Death float sounds like fun!

Would we tent or are there Hotels around?

There is a lovely Best Western at the end of the float. We pull up our rafts and spend the night. Here's the link:

By the way, make sure you check out the picture slide show on that page of the resort. You can see the river in the background in some of them. And in case anyone cares, its where I grew up. I spent every summer, every day, on that river.

Is it through the Frank Church Wilderness/River of No Return? I am in for that. I love whitewater rafting as long as it doesn't involve banjos.

Um, no, not rafting. Floating. No white water but it is on the Clearwater River so you can see down to the bottom.

My vote is specific. First Thursday in March 2007. Meet in Grand Marais Minnesota at Sven and Ole's Pizza. Thursday night trivia game. Try to beat my team "The Goat Boys". Swill a few beers, and follow up with a 130 mile snomobile ride the next morning. Any takers?
