WHY ?

I've written many Kerblunks about song lyrics, most have gone down really well. Now this...........

Thank you for submitting your quiz, ""Queen Of Hearts" Lyrics". Unfortunately we were unable to activate your quiz at this time. Below is a description of the problem:
Sorry to bother you, again, but the boss still says all things like these lyrics need to be placed in quotes.
Please modify the quiz appropriately and resubmit. Thanks again!

................Why the hell does every line need to be in quotation marks, and why now suddenly ? I'm starting to wonder if the editors are being used to give me a slap on the wrist for being critical. I'm starting to wonder if i should bother writing anything if the editors are going to be used to harass me instead of assisting me.

Yes, more than likely, just kidding. I'm not an editor but I think it may have some to the programing. I took an intro course in webpage design a couple of years back for the hell of it. I think it has something to do with the coding.

Or as usual, it's left up to the almighty editor and their overall control. Ha Ha!

We are not one large hive mentality. We are a group of volunteer individuals who each bring our own perspectives to the process. Thus, there is some variance in how we react to a quiz. Now, was the return of your quiz unnecessary? Perhaps, and the editors have heard your complaint and are dealing with it. At least, give them a few hours.

But you should know that the support system and the author/editor exchange of comments with submitted quizzes are working ways to get the dialogue going and resolve the matter quietly and efficiency. All that posting to the Salty Dog accomplishes is riling up those people who have nothing better to do in their life than find fault with Sploofus. And we thank you for that.

I didn't think you had a hive mentality for one moment. Singing off the same song sheet ? It never occured to me that you had all even seen the song sheet. The quiz is now a profusion of quotation marks, enough to keep even "the boss" happy i would think. You make it sound like the problems are the fault of the people that are complaining, and there are plenty of them. If i didn't have to wait for minutes every time i submit a question (when compliling a quiz) i wouldn't be complaining at all. For you information i have a full and busy life, and i could do without having to chace after Jason to sort this place out.

Well said Dave! And I have plenty to do also,I only complain when sploofus isn't working like it is suppose to, and here lately it seems to be all the time.

My only question is - if some editors require quotations and some don't, how is that keeping the boss happy? If the boss is involved at all in that decision, wouldn't all editors already be requiring the same punctuation for years?

Just one question for you, Dave. Why do you call Justin Jason? I share some of your frustration though whatever you call people.

Blaming the players for being upset when Sploofus doesn't work and when the editors can't be consistent on some of the simplest rules? The same people who pay for this site?

That was harsh, dude.

The Jason / Justin thing was purely a slip, i would imagine a Freudian slip. I have since had the Kerblunk returned to me, minus all the quotation marks !!!!!!!!!!! I have now re submitted it in its origimal form. You couldn't make this up could you ?
PS
I just wrote a "Jason" quiz, i've gotta do a "Justin" one now !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still shocked by the snotty tone of the editor message. If this were my site and its existence was dependent upon the membership fees of happy players, I would be furious.

I was put through the same pain on some of the first quizzes I wrote. The painful part was when Sploofus was moved to a new server system. All my quotes marks were changed to question marks.

Is snotty the same thing as pretentious or rude? If so I agree with Lodi. BTW where are my socks?

The matter has been resolved via some personal contact with the editor involved.
