HIDDEN POTUS

I certainly hope this is the first of many.

Note to self: Drinking wine before the WP = multiple pink screens. Arghh!

Nevertheless, a fun one! Nice job

No way. I have two glasses every evening. No effect whatsoever.

It's those morning puzzles that get me.

Turns out it affects WordRounds and WordMatches, too! Nighty night, Folks!

What a fun WP -- it feels like ... like ... MORE!

It was a lot of fun.

But we've done so many with secrets and turns and brain frying twists lately that I wasted a LOT of time trying to discover what was in this WP that was out to bite me in the backside as most lately have done. I went in thinking I had this one figured out ahead of time!

I was wrong.

Fun puzzle and though I did find the theme I had a lot of trouble with the fine details. Well done sploofanini.

I really enjoyed this puzzle. This was a fresh way to present a puzzle on the presidents -- nice job! Thanks for a lot of fun!

Exactly what I was expecting from the title, with good clues and sentences that could easily have been stilted in less capable hands. Nice work!

Exactly what I was expecting from the title,

Is there anybody else who is not from the US that didn't have a clue what "POTUS" meant ? I enjoyed the puzzle anyway.

Fun puzzle, thanks! As Lamizell said.

I guess anyone who read SD during the elections soon learnt what POTUS stood for!

I had thought what it meant was that the letters POTUS were hidden in all the answers.

Can't wait to see how Eisenhower gets fit into a puzzle!

Loved it, this was great fun and well written.

As an avid West wing watcher I think I heard this term at least once a week for a decade (and now in the repeats of course).

And avid readers of salty Dog may have seen a variant on the pages for quite a few threads.....

I also learned what it meant from *The West Wing* -- an explanation actually opened the first episode.

Right; Rob Lowe in bed with a hooker on the pilot show gets a call from POTUS and has to explain it to his companion...who as I recall was studying for a law degree; which is what they always tell me their aim in life is.
Some would consider it a step down not up.....

Close: She reads a text message he gets (leading to the pager mixup, which is how he finds out she's an escort), which says something like "POTUS in bike accident," and she tells him "Your boss has a funny name." I think he replies, "It's not his name, it's his title."
