Didn't the clue specify North America? Isn't Guatamala in Central America? A bit misleading -- unless I have mis-remembered the clue.

Diane, that one almost killed me. I searched all afternoon, half the night and the next morning. If I remember right, the first clue was North America - NOT a mall; next was se hablo espanol, so I was looking in Mexico; Next was North America Museum, and then at the last, it was broken down to Central America Museum. If my memory serves me right, these were all clues.

Thanks for remembering the clues, Marilyn. I thought I was losing it.
The one I saw was "North America -- Not a Mall."
I guess the clue writer was unaware of the designation "Central America."

I wondered about that, too. The clue I saw was "North America Museum," so the answer quite surprised me.

We're sorry that the clues seem to have caused confusion and frustration.

While Guatemala is certainly part of Central America, it is also considered to be part of North America, based on several different sources. Please see, for example, this list of North American countries at Wikipedia:

We do appreciate and welcome your feedback, as we're always trying to improve the game and keep it fun for everyone. Sometimes it can be difficult to conjure up a good clue that will be helpful to players without giving everything away too quickly.

If you have further suggestions, please feel free to let us know. Thank you!

Well now that's just bizarre! Am I the only one who grew up being told N.A.=U.S., Canada, and Mexico? Yet the editor is correct: Google "North America," and you'll find that the various sites that pop up (at least the ones I clicked on) include all the nations of Central America in their definitions.

Did everyone hold a meeting and not invite me?

I think I have to go get a cold compress and lie down. Suddenly feeling...very...old.

In general, those of us in North America [sic] get somewhat different definitions of continents as those in Europe do. Considering everything down to Panama as NA seems completely logical to me, but then, I've had it drilled into my head for ages. (On the other hand, Eurasiafrica sure looks like one continent to me )

This discussion has reminded me of a similar (to me, at least) question of nomenclature. Do any of you remember when there used to be a region called the Near East? When I was in grade school learning geography, that is what we were taught to call Turkey, Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq -- all of which have apparently been swallowed by the voracious Middle East.

Well, that just makes no sense. Let's start a petition to reinstate the Near East!

Hear, hear!

And on a trivial note ------ I just had to look that up to make sure it wasn't "here, here." It's not.
