SGT CROWLEY DID NOT APOLIGZE

The Beer Fest is over now. Yet, Sgt Crowley refuses to take credit for writing a bogus report and causing the, lady who called in death, threats and scorn; nor did he apologize to her. Really, Sgt Crowley should apologize to US people for causing more racial divide.
He should be ed and shame of himself.

What one cop did and how one prof reated would not have caused a racial divide in the country. There is no proof that any false arrest occurred either, Beverly. Obama taking sides on a racial issue during prime time widened the gap that wa already there. Obama should be thanking the Seargent for his gracious speech after the beer get-together. Obama wants this thing to go away because of his his huge gaffe on prime time but folks like you seem to want to stoke the fires-fine with me as it makes Obama look terrible anfd has hurt him as the polls reflect. Linda

According to reports I heard today there's an ongoing investigation into the whole incident. I'm satisfied it's gotten enough attention that the investigation will be thorough and fair, and I'm content to wait for the results instead of squabbling about events we really know very little about.

Linda the operative words there were MORE racial divide. I noticed the side you're on seems to make you very proud of Sgt. Crowley.

For, what? He wrote a bogus police In other words... he lied. Take all the pride you want Linda, this is America. I'm proud to be in a country where we speak freely.

I have had an experience with that. A neighbor of mine was a refugee. He was so traumatized he was afraid to talk about anything.I could hardly believe it and took a great amount of time to win over his confidence. I'm also proud of that. I shared with him the blessings of America.

Bev, it's true. Sgt Crowley did very staunchly affirm that "nobody apologized to anybody." And I believe him 100%.

Here's what Professor Gates said.

"It is incumbent upon Sergeant Crowley and me to utilize the great opportunity that fate has given us to foster greater sympathy among the American public for the daily perils of policing on the one hand, and for the genuine fears of racial profiling on the other hand."

"Let me say that I thank God that I live in a country in which police officers put their lives at risk to protect us every day, and, more than ever, I've come to understand and appreciate their daily sacrifices on our behalf.

I'm also grateful that we live in a country where freedom of speech is a sacrosanct value and I hope that one day we can get to know each other better, as we began to do at the White House this afternoon over beers with President Obama."

I believe him 100%.

Hey, this beer get together was all about getting Obama off the hook. I doubt anything more will come of it.

BTW, Beverly it's only a racial matter for Gates and Obama. It's not and never was a racial matter for the police or for the city of Cambridge.

No doubt about it, Donna, it was only a racial matter for Gates and Obama. Prof Gates probably waited all his life for that moment, and his misfortune was that he racially stereotyped an exemplary white policeman who teaches his fellow officers not to racially profile.

As noted last week, the racists are the ones who shout "Racist" the loudest.

I can't talk politics on Sploofus right now, Andy. I've had drinks and I probably wouldn't be tactful.

I just got back from my car guy's shop where we had a little beer fest of our own. There was a smiling Irishman(me), 2 blacks, 2 or three guys of questionable ancestry, one mexican, and one ex-cop.-------------no one apologized there either. We sat around, used the F-word a lot, slammed Clinton, Bush, and Obama. One guy even shot down Herbert Hoover, go figure, We slammed Bret Favre, the Lions and UofM, But we all agreed on one thing. Cash for clunkers sucks. All those potential replacement parts crushed. A national tragedy,

Perhaps President Obama is on the right track. Lets do it on a larger scale. Have all the warring factions around the world over for beer at the White House. Beer for peace. Anyone know what brand of beer was served?

Four different beers. Biden had a Buckler.

And they agreed to disagree.

Obama's poll ratings continued to drop as a result of his foolish intervention into this situation - must have been his "teachable moment."

OK ... it is sworking again. Media is barely reporting Pelosi's keeping Congress in session and the final committee hurdle being overcome ... In a 31-28 vote, the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved the health care legislation lat night. That is far more important than the police profiling being covered up.

I couldn't have said it any better; but they want to talk about apologies. Once the ad wars start I doubt if they will continue on this sensationalism.
