PUNNY WP

Excellent. One clue made utterly no sense but the rest were very clever. Good one.

I was kinda confused on one too - the rest were hilarious.

I can't believe I miss two WPs in the outage only to land in this one. I'm terrible with puns to begin with, but these weren't even puns! For me, it was a find-the-connection nightmare, and once again I'm left with an answer I'll probably only figure out 36 hours later. I have nothing but respect for Tuzilla, but I just hated this one. Our brains just aren't wired the same way.

Steve include me in on the 'confused' if not actually 'dislike' category.

a pun is not the same as a word game. For example Alexander the grater is a pun; Alexander the ingrate is a pun. But Alexander the moderate is a word association -- I hope alexander was not one of the clues!!

Most of my clues were not puns at all I think.

I enjoyed it--puns or no puns

Yeah, I thought he used a pretty loose (odd) definition of pun. My first one was John the Dentist (instead of John the Baptist I suppose). I really struggled with that because I just don't think that's a pun. However, others were pretty cute puns, e.g., Bob the Bilker (instead of the Bob the Builder). Apparently I was on the same wave length most of the time, because I did well. But I understand the complaints.

I missed this one completely, due to the outage and having to sleep at times.

John the Baptist! It would have taken me more than 36 hours to come up with that. Thanks!

But that's exactly what I mean: There's nothing to link the two. They're not both occupations (the link I was trying to find), and they're nothing approaching puns. They're two words simply connected by a "tist." John the Methodist would have made more sense,

Allow me to add my own "I dunno" and note that it's good to be back online and doing WPs.

It's August now and I'm on board for all 62.

I'll bite. I don't get the relationship between John the Methodist - please share?

I got the pink notice on my guess Phil the Dentist

That was the one that stumped me - I guessed Phil the Dentist too !

I said Phil, too.

I just meant that at least there was a connection between Methodist and Baptist, where there isn't between Dentist and Baptist.
