Harry Patch the last tommy who he died last month was buried today .He kept silent about the first world war until he was a hundred years old and has backed peace and harmony between nations for the last 11years .His abiding memory of war is of a comrade fataly injured by shrapnel asking him to shoot him but passing befor he had to and of him calling for his mother which had hunted all his life.Of the mud and more mud in the trenches of the millions who died irrespective of the uniforms they wore
Harry was a pacifist but did his duty and admited he never shot to kill ,his respect for all the forces who still fight for peace today .
godbless him .

I was glad Tommy didn't let the military hijack it. Tommy was as anti war as i am, and with far more reason.
