STICKY MOUSE OR STICKY WICKET?

To avoid stomping all over Lynn's WP Congrat Thread (praise she well deserves) I'll ask the question here. Have you ever had 2 letters for the price of 1 on a WP. That is, clicked on a letter only to have it enter that letter & the letter adjacent to it? Its happened to me twice & cost me 100 points both times. Andy thinks it has something to do with your Internet connection & Donna thinks it's your mouse sticking, anybody else with some computer expertize care to chime in? Since I'm such a crappy typist it probably is my own fault but I'd like to figure out how to correct it. Might it be clicking between 2 letters? Thanks

I could be wrong, but when it's happened to me, it seems like a mouse problem

It happens to me on almost every WP, mainly because I use a laptop with the stupid little touchpad. Another thing I hate about it is how I can be typing along and if I accidentally brush the touchpad, it will insert my words wherever the cursor was hovering.

Times like that, I know why they call it a cursor.

I had that trouble before....go in to control panel ..and click mouse, try setting it to slower, that might help for awhile,if it doesn't,you need a new mouse!

Do you double click the letter you want to choose? If so, that may be the reason why its selecting the next letter that the mouse is hovering over. I've had that problem a time or two and its always my fault.

It's happened to me a couple of times, and I know it had to do with my mouse and me just clicking too much. I had been using a very old mouse with a trackball in it -- along with lots of cat hair. (Yes, really.) I did buy a new optical mouse and haven't had any problems since.

It happens to me from time to time. I'll click on a letter and it doesn't register, like glitch in the matrix. So I click on it again, and boom, it registers that letter and the letter next to it. I don't think its my mouse. I think its internet or sploofus lagging.

Lodi - now that you mention it, it seems that it happens that way quite often. I had totally forgotten.

I didn't double click, clicked once & got an I which I wanted & a J, which I didn't. Still could be that my mouse jammed. Don't really know. I'll try to be a little more careful in the future & pay attention as to whether or not the mouse needs replacing. The mouse is a year old, so in computerland, that's ancient. Thanks for the input everyone
