'68/'69 OLDS TORONADO

This was my dream car in the early 70s - didn't like the more luxury styles after 1969. I had found a bargain white Toro' in '73 that I drooled after, but I just couldn't talk my spouse into it.

Did anyone here ever own one? Was it as wonderful as I thought?

My brother had one..I really don't remember much about it...but he treated it like it was his baby. So I guess it was all that! His was a 69.

I recall thinking that the Toronado was all that. I never owned one though. My parents had a '57 Chevy hardtop that was nice as hell. I still like the look of that car. As far as dream cars go....a Jaguar convertible will do very nicely, thank you.

Last friday I bought a '69 Camaro Z28 with a 454 c.i. motor. Not exactly the luxury barge like a Toronado but it will do the things that I like to do much better than the Olds. One of the locals here has restored a Toronado to better than new condition. beautiful car. Different strokes for different folks.

Now you're just showin' off!

The top line, 2nd picture from left, is just like the '68 white Toronado I wanted so much!

I don't think there were many differences between the '68 and the '69 model, but for some reason I didn't like the '69 as well.

My first car was a silver 1980 Camaro, oh how I loved that car! Those were the days! I was newly 20, newly married, newly graduated from nursing school! We bought the car when I started my first job.

That sounds awesome, Martina.

Don, I was, at the time I found the Toro, driving a white on red Caprice. Gorgeous car, but I was worn out on red and ready for a cooler car (temp wise, not woohoo wise).
