TUZILLA MYSTERY PERSON WP

I haven't been having much luck with Steve's puzzles recently.
But I really enjoyed this one (without having a clue as to who the person was) ....until right at the end I ran into a word that seemed superfluous to the smooth running of the puzzle and led to my wasting a bunch of random letters...maybe I should have googled it instead!
Still, a nice idea.

Something funny - I did pretty good on the puzzle, thought I had the person on the first phrase and did the rest under that impression, till I got to the last one, which couldn't possibly fit the person I thought it was, and I can't even figure out who it is now by googling what I can remember of my phrases!

Be fun to find out who we thought it was. And who it is.

Oh, well, anyway, I learned a LOT about a person I hadn't realized was so interesting.

Hi. Thanks in advance to those who take it. If you haven't taken it, Please note the title is Mystery Character, not Person

No fair, man, let everyone else have the same chance to be dense as I did.

Luck of the draw is everything here, you'll laugh when I tell you.

I did enjoy it, made me a little dizzy but in a good way, and I got a couple good questions for tonight out of researching the wrong "character."

All good, Steve, nothing's more fun than a good laugh at myself.

Good WP. I had an idea who was the mystery person but it did not fit with one of the phrase I had. Back to square one. Cheers

I enjoyed working it out, just as well given the time i took on it. I still have not a clue who the person is, and i found my first clue very strange indeed. Good puzzle though, thanks.

I was racing down the wrong path through three phrases and hit the wall on #4, then I had a moment.

Fun puzzle. I googled, but didn't get the identification until my last WP, which was a give-away (not to do the WP, but to figure out the Mystery Character). Guess the character's identity really wasn't as much help as the clues themself, but I liked it because it added an extra dimension...solve the WP AND the mystery.

OK it took a little work on the first one but it hit me pretty quick - I've got a keychain with the mystery person on it so just call me

Once again, thanks to all of you.

I reiterate...the WP was titled MYSTERY CHARACTER, not person. I can tell there was some confusion around this. The answer is my AV, minus the rabbit ears...Michigan J. Frog.

Wasn't the clue "i had a human in my throat?" or did I dream that? It's one I had.

I had never heard of this character - I guess I've seen him, but never knew the name or thought of him as anything but a character in the background.

Sorry, Jan. you are right. I posted a copy of my original submission. I had asked for that to be changed to human after I submitted it. I thought that was better. That change was made several days before this ran. You must not have watched the WB, or you couldn't have missed him.

It was a very catchy clue - that's why I noticed. That was a good change.

I had never seen this before. Steve thanks for drawing this to my attention. I guess non-Americans had the same problem as I did!

That's what confused me, well actually most of it did ! How can you "sing" TV ratings info ? I suppose you had to be there.

I got lucky with my first couple of puzzles: *Roger Rabbit* identified the character as a cartoon, and his discovery clued me in as to his identity. I can imagine being really frustrated had I gotten, for example, the radio station call letters first. But I quite like the idea of characters as well as people and places,

Too bad there's not a way for getting bonus points for identifying a Mystery WP subject -- 1,000 points if you get it after the first clue, 750 for the second, etc.

It's still a mystery to me too, Barry, but even knowing the character wouldn't have improved my score.
