I watched it and was really blown away by Big and Rich's Song "The End Of November".....It was awesome! My hubby is a vet and when he heard the song and saw the veterans that came out on stage he cried.....He doesn't cry very often but this really got to him! It was a very moving song and my hat's off to the writer and to Big and Rich for their performance......I also loved Reba's comment about the Dixie Chicks! Go REBA!

Queen and I were flipping channels during commercials, and happened to catch that song. I was reading something, and the song stopped me mid sentance. Hip hip hooray for patriotism.

The song was great. It was VERY moving!

And while I don't agree with what the Chicks said, nor should she have said it at all...the vets fought for her right to say it! (and who knows what she says when the hit Lodon again in June)

I missed it Vickie, although I will have to go and see if I can find the song. What did Reba have to say about the Dixie Chicks?

Didn't see the awards show. But just listened to it on napster. There's an intro by Kris Kristofferson. Wow!

(I think it's called 8th of Movember for anyone else looking for it)

Reba said it wasn't suprising someone could sing in whatever the conditions were since the Dixie Chicks could sing with a foot in their mouth.

I read in the news she said she was nervous to host the show but then realized that if the Dixie Chicks could sing with their foot in their mouths, she could host this "sucker."

I didn't see the show though. I did read in the news that the lead singer for the Dixie Chicks had renounced all country music fans and said she was done with them and their music. So what does she expect? Not a good way to make money.

if you have not heard this song already you can go to and listen to it there. I did after reading this thread seeing how I missed the show last night. It's called the 8th of November and it literally gave me chills.

To all those serving in our military. My hats off to you, you are true American heros. Thank you for everything you do for our country.

Lodi, did you hear that the chicks were planning a tour? Makes me wonder who'll actually attend....
Natalie Maines doesn't realize that our service men and women are fighting and dieing so she can run her mouth! She also made the comment that they didn't want their music on a 5 disc Cd changer along side Reba McIntire and Toby Keith! I applaud Reba for saying what she said....(she was nervous).....Anyway, the song by Big and Rich was the highlight of the entire show along with Gretchen Wilson's song Politically Incorrect. Thanks for the site where I can find the song Shawna....The Chicks in my humble opinion are finished in country music.....the radio stations here will not play their music. And to all here who have served, are seving,or know someone who hat is off to you! And a GREAT BIG THANK YOU TO ALL VETERANS OF ALL WARS....Proud to be the wife and daughter of veterans!
