MY $.01 WORTH OF RIDDLE

Looking at a U.S. one cent coin, find the following:
A car;
A snake;
A fruit;
An SUV;
A U.S. rock band;
Three girls' names.

If you have seen this before, please send your answer by PM so others have a chance to think it over.

If you don't want a spoiler, don't scroll down to the other answers.

Have fun.

For some of us the challenge is in finding a US 1 cent coin.

For our non-yanks, here's a couple of pictures.

The first is the front:

And here's the best image I can find of the back:

Hints:
The Band cue should have said "US/UK" not just US. The group started in Britain but was composed mainly of US service dependents. They had two #1 hits - one about a nameless equine, and one about a blond girl.

As for the girls' names, one is the same as the SUV, although in a popular song from the '60s, it was a man's name. Another is found in the last five letters of the band's name. As for the third, it isn't in print. This, the car, and the snake are the forehead smackers.

The fruit is found southeast of the chin.

Here are the answers, a wee bit late, as is my usual state of being.

Looking at a U.S. one cent coin, find the following:
A car; Lincoln
A snake; Copper head
A fruit; the Date
An SUV; Liberty (by Jeep)
A U.K./U.S. rock band; America ("A Horse with No Name," "Sister Golden Hair," "Ventura Highway")
Three girls' names. Liberty (Not extremely common, but I know three. Also the outlaw Liberty Valance from the 1962 movie and
Gene Pitney song), Erica (last 5 letters of America) and of course, Penny.

And I'll be adding the couch Sandy found when I tell this next time (StateS OF America)

Good job all.
Mike

You could also add a 1980's movie/TV show. It overlaps the sofa.

Yes it does! I use this with my GED students when they get tired of structured lessons. Helps them to think beyond the obvious.
