I always come to my friends at Sploofus when I need some information or advice.

This time I am looking for a company that will imprint pencils and pens at a reasonable price (I realize reasonable is a debatable word).

Mainly I just would like you to refer me to a company you have dealt with. I can go on the Internet and find all kinds of places - some with prices so cheap I wonder if they have a good product.

If you have ordered from a company and know the product was as promised, would you please send the Web site info to me at I'm not looking to order a huge amount - probably somewhere between 500-1000 pens and/or pencils.

I haven't ordered pencils in ages. I'm useless for you. I do remember one way to check quality is to ask about the lead. Should be #2 or it might be garbage. Also, erasers. I've seen pencils arrive with nearly zero eraser and real trash quality. Otherwise, I know nothing helpful, these days.

I'm curious what cha' gonna do with 1,000 pencils?

Pat: One year I ran a huge Nanotechnology conference at WSU and we needed imprinted conference bags & accessories for the participants. I researched it thoroughly and used Crestline for that. They were fair priced and expedient.

Thanks for the tips. I'll check that site for products and prices.

We have a Halloween event at church called Trunk 'n' Treat and have hundreds of kids come through for treats, hot dogs, hot chocolate and a bunch of games with prices. I thought it would be nice to include a pencil along with the treats. We also give first-time visitors to church a coffee mug with the church's picture and name on it, along with some candies and other information. Just seemed a natural fit to include a pen or pencil with the church name on it.

Plus the pencils would be handy to just hand out as awards throughout the year.

My fear is ordering online and just because it's less expensive it might also be poor quality. So I appreciate the tips.

Another fun place to look for Halloween tidbits is Oriental Trading. You can buy in bulk.

I've been trying to think of the name of that place - Oriental Trading. Thanks Lodi.

My advice for Oriental Trading is to order early. Sometimes they take their own sweet time getting your order to you.
