Totally absorbing. I find the pronouncer especially riveting; how anyone can maintain such a monotone is beyond me. I didn't realize how true to life the Broadway show "Spelling Bee" really is!

I watched the last hour of it. I agree about that guy. But I couldn't do that job. Having all those kids asking over and over again, Can you repeat the word, Can you repeat the definition, what is its origin...

I was proud of myself cuz I actually spelled one of the words correctly before they showed the word on the screen. The word was recrementation. Pretty easy when you compare it to those other words though! Those kids are SMART!

I watched the end of it...totally amazing. The knowledge those kids have just blew me away! ...if only they had thrown a musical number in there...LOL

I stayed up way too late watching the spelling bee considering how early I have to get up in the morning. I also tried to spell the words before the spellers did, and although I'm a pretty good speller, I would have been knocked out pretty early!

For the portions that I watched, the same thought kept going through my head...remember that word in case it appears in WRs. But that doesn't make me some sort of addict, right?

Linda, I didn't watch the Spelling Bee, but my granddaughter was in 6th grade, won for her entire school, and was competing with 7th & 8th grades and came in 5th in the county. She received a plaque, which I was very proud of her. Marilyn
