This is along the lines of a story featured on Oprah about a young couple whose baby was born with a terminal illness. This is difficult to watch. On the other hand, it shows a couple with great strength and compassion who allowed this to be filmed in hopes it might help other parents in similar situations.

There are no words only tears. They just loved their baby boy.

The strength of people continues to astonish me. What a moving tribute to the love of a child.

We have a wonderful local news program, with several people who have found a way to make the news personal and their delivery of all news is done with compassion AND passion, when required. One of the anchors, went through very public attempt to have more children, including depression and need much help from doctors to achieve her dream of family. Then Kelly Frey, one of the other anchors, became pregnant, here is her story.... this strong brave woman, has to go through this, live on the air everyday.

Thanks for posting that story, Pennwoman. I cannot believe the people who posted critical comments, calling the couple selfish.

Offer them compassion, empathy, prayers or sympathy -- but don't call them selfish. Their burden is already heavy enough.

No one can say what they would do until they are in that situation. I don't think they are selfish I think they love their unborn baby which is as it should be. What heartache though. I can't imagine.

Heartbreaking is the only word that comes to mind. I admire their strength and their choice to let him live however brief that might have been.
