We last saw our cat Hobbes seven days ago before we left for the holiday weekend. He'd not been seen since and we had pretty much lost all hope.

Just minutes ago, my wife got up and let the dog out. We were sitting having a cup of coffee and thought we heard a 'meow'. We looked at each other like,'Did you hear that?', and then heard it again. We went outside and there he was, a bit thin but otherwise fine.

He has disappeared for a couple days before and we always joked that he had another family, but never that long before. We even tried to avoid saying his name around our 5 year old daughter. But didn't go as far as to get rid of his food and bowl. But we were close.

That darn cat is crazy. We know he has killed at least two rabbits and I believe three squirrels. I just figgered he bit off a little more wildlife than he could handle.

If cats have nine lives, I think he may have just used one of his up. But I sure am glad to see him alive and seemingly well.

Wish I had some sort of tracking device to see just where he goes on his forays.

Have a great day, mine started off well!!

HOORAY!! for Hobbes. I have a grandkitten named Hobbes and we love him to pieces. In our area we have coyotes and when a pet goes missing it is not a good thing. Enjoy him and the rest of his lucky lives.

I'm so happy for you and I'm very glad Hobbes made it home! My cat, Gypsy, went missing a couple of years ago, and I couldn't sleep for weeks, imagining the horrible things that she may have been going through.
Unfortunately, she never made it home, but I couldn't be happier for you!

Glad your cat came home. Has he been 'fixed'? If not maybe he is out courting.

Having said that I have had the odd cat over the years who go away for a while and then return.
The longest I have lost a cat for was nearly 3 weeks. Murfy was missing with no sign of him for 3 weeks then I thouhgt i heard him one day and when i looked there was no sign. This went on for 48 hours, during which i went all around the place calling him and searching all cupboards etc again. One night at 3 am and it sounded like he was in the room with me - because it is quieter at night I tracked the noise was inside the walls. Eventually, we found a space behind the kitchen sink with no floorboards (the joy of cheap rented accomadation!). The kitchen was directly above the my bedroom so I put food at the top and only called him from the kitchen area to encourage him to come in the right direction. When he got out he was filthy but fine otherwise.
