The closest I ever got to a luau was the Hawaiian Pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair. I still remember the dish I had for lunch. Had it several times over the course of the two years of the Fair - it was one of the more affordable things to eat there. It wasn't in my 5 puzzles, but maybe it was in one of the others.

Tough puzzle!

I was at the World's Fair in 1965, but I must have missed the Hawaiian luau goodies.

Tough but fair. . .I just couldn't spell.

I had trouble with one and filled in all the letters. What a dunce!

The quiz was great and the beverages sounded lovely!!

Must be the author's revenge for all those Italian words I offered at the beginning of the week.

Very fine puzzle. Entertaining and fun. Thank you.

(Editor, I have a grammar issue with one of the phrases which cost me 4 moves.)

Maybe I should not do these puzzles late at night. Maybe the prosecco didn't help.
It seemed uninspired to me; just a list of foods with no 'catch' for the reader.
I was hoping for more but I'm not sure what I wanted...just didn't get it. Filled the letters in, went to bed.

at least I learnt a few new words...at a cost..... maybe that's enough but it did not feel that way.

We must have gotten different puzzles Barry - mine were far from simple lists - with an extra hook or two thrown in - I didn't know a lot the items (living in the snowy backyard of Lake Erie we don't get much of those foods) but I thought it was fun.

Am I the only one who had a spelling problem with this fun puzzle? Maybe it's because we spend too much time in South Carolina. But one of the drinks I've never heard of, not even at a Tiki bar in the 60's.

My sister, who lives in Hawaii, had never heard of a couple of the items mentioned but she's going to ask around for them. I enjoyed the puzzle, but it made me hungry!
