MEDICAL MYSTERY TOUR WP

There will be low scores on this one.

Creative.

Painful.

Fun, in retrospect.

Good job.

Perfect puzzle to do when you're on call - darn beeper when off right in the middle of it - how appropriate. Very clever puzzle.

Geez....the physician got the physican's WP in five moves......HA!

Excellently diabolical. Actually don't care for shorties but this was well written.

Well, I liked it, but I sure screwed up. Tried to make it a lot harder than it was. Didn't get the right rhythm until my 3rd one.

Got the last four with no letters. Then there was the matter of the first one. Ah well... Very cute.

Very clever and well written. Kudos to Ron for his creativity. I got a few with no letters to keep my score fairly low.
But at least one fiver? My my- I wish I could use my left eye.
A pleasure to solve tonight.

I'm not real fond of three-minute consultations, Lodi.

Awesome job Sandy - I did have to check my beeper in the middle of the puzzle to see if the page was one I had to answer immediately or if it could wait - wasted some of my time, but still not sure I could have caught you - I did have to ponder one of them for a little longer than the others which used up most of my time.

Damn...I didn't get the significance of the title until my last WP. Looking back, very clever WP, not at all reflected in my score.

Got the easy one first, had to burn a safety letter on the last. Pretty neat!

Thanks for the kind words, and glad so many liked it.

Congratulations to Sandy--I knew you'd be a champion Sploofuser!

Tough luck, Gary, you gotta learn how to turn that thing off!

As most figured out, it was based on the song titles from the excellent Beatles album Magical Mystery Tour, with some vaguely medical puns thrown in to mix it up a bit:

the fool on the pill : Silly and Infertile
tying : Tubal Sterilization
flu jay way : Sick Bird Road
your mother should sew : Mom Ought to Suture
i am the uterus : Womb Identifies Self
yellow goodbye : Jaundice, Gone!
strawberry heals forever : Eternal Shortcake Cure
penny lame :Limping Little Coin
baby youre a sick man : Ailing, Dearie!
all you need is blood : Merely Anemic

Tying is the one that took me some time. Fool on the Pill was absolutely hilarious.

Funny, Tying was probably my easiest. One word ... if you're intimate with the album, what else can it be? I didn't get a fortunate first puzzle, though (Baby You're A Sick Man"), and had to burn three letters to figure out what was going on. Still, once that was done, the album was ingrained enough to generate 68 seconds

By the way, I didn't get it, but the title "The Fool on the Pill" has been circulating for over 30 years. See http://www.rutles.org/rpix/tht.jpg
