EVOLUTIONISTS FLOCK TO DARWIN-SHAPED WALL STAIN

More brilliance from "The Onion"
http://www.theonion.com/content/news/evolutionists_flock_to_darwin
...
"I brought my baby to touch the wall, so that the power of Darwin can purify her genetic makeup of undesirable inherited traits," said Darlene Freiberg, one among a growing crowd assembled here to see the mysterious stain, which appeared last Monday on one side of the Rhea County Courthouse. The building was also the location of the famed "Scopes Monkey Trial" and is widely considered one of Darwinism's holiest sites. "Forgive me, O Charles, for ever doubting your Divine Evolution. After seeing this miracle of limestone pigmentation with my own eyes, my faith in empirical reasoning will never again be tested."

Love me some Onion!

Still waiting for Madelyn Murray O'Hair to appear as mold on a bedroom ceiling somewhere in Texas.

All this proves is that Darwin was wrong. I hope the miracle will finally persuade people of the errors of evolution and let us teach our children about Intelligent Design in peace.

And can it be coincidence that today is the Saintday of Doubting Thomas? I think not.

I happen to live in Rhea County and was born in Dayton...I've never seen this so called "miracle"...besides the article is a year old...no one here takes much stock in it anyway...we just go about our own business around here...Personally I think it's right up there with seeing Michael Jackson's face in a tree trunk...

LOL! It is good to see a person who is so secure with and who has such deeply held faith in their belief system that they can satirize themself.

CC is the only person I know who satirizes himself. That is too funny.

"It's a stain on a wall, and nothing more," said the Rev. Clement McCoy, a professor at Oral Roberts University and prominent opponent of evolutionary theory.” Leaving aside his perhaps biased views on evolution, I admire his common sense!

Thanks. Some of us do know. It is a high calling to be able to provide pleasure and amusement to others, especially to those who devote so much effort to providing the same to others. You may find it interesting to one day partake of an exercise with Johari's Window.

I only councel people on things of which i have a first hand knowledge, but i am aware thanks. This is the second time in a few days when irony has proved too much for some. Watch this space, lovin' it.

Sometimes I think I've fallen in with a group of master satirists.

Then the awful reality hits me.

That said, it's always fun to follow these threads and attempt to discern the clever from the clue-challenged.

Hate to think how often I fall into the latter category. But it ain't gonna happen with something from The Onion

Well said, Asor. I usually get CC ecentric twists of humor. Not that it makes me special or an annilhist or an evolutionist. Don't you just love a good cult name.

I'm an evolutionist all the time. Only a nihilist on very cranky Monday mornings

Hey, perhaps that makes me cult-ured!

Too funny! Seriously studied religious cults in college with a great professor. We all agreed the Scientology lot was the craziest.

If Tom Cruise is any indication, you were absolutely on the mark!

I never bought a "Free Katie"/"Run, Katie, Run"/"Save Katie" T-shirt, but I certainly flirted with the notion!

I used to love Mad Magazine when it was affordable. The TV series has never lived up to the early magazines.

Very good quiz, took it a while ago. The scary thing is people really believe in those things.
