I would like to quote you. "This puzzle is nothing like what I thought it would be when I read the title." Probably that is good. I think I can understand why there were no hyper answers. But ... I was prepared. Thanks for a fine, straight puzzle.

There may be a new record here; one player took 16052 seconds to play this game....I reckon that is 4.5 hours (probably a computer glitch but still...)

Usually, I fear Barry's WP but this one was very good and I got the theme after the first phrase. Good stuff.

Enjoyed this one very much. One answer was completely foreign to me (even after I "solved" it), but survived that and had fun with the others.

Nice puzzle. No drain on my brain.

From the land of duh - didn't bother to consider the theme until phrase 5 again.

Well, I had some good wine with my dinner of pasta with spicy homemade puttanesca sauce and a $1.60 ear of corn (I treated myself to two this week).

Thank you , Barry.

That was great fun except for the one that beat my eyes shut.

Took a while to get it but really enjoyed it none the less. Good one, Barry.

This was rather straightforward for you, Barry. Not used to that! What have you done with the real Barry?

Nice work Barry.

I'd just like to point out that (on average) one quiz in three I do is straight, one a mystery theme and one cryptic/comic.
You can guess what the next two will be.....

I was a wee bit puzzled by the inclusion of Stockton as a "big city" ... Olympia is at least a capital, but what's Stockton known for, besides UOP upsetting Kansas a few years ago?

Anyway, I crashed and burned on Judy Chicago. Somehow I figured that her feminist magnum opus would be called "The Donner Party". Eat the men, baby, eat the men!

You're on the right track, Ken, but Olympia is not a big city. Stockton is.

Now I have an excuse for not getting the theme earlier. I had Olympia, blew 4 moves on a two letter word and still came in a distant second to Dave.

As a resident of Olympia, I'm not sure I'm disappointed or happy I didn't get that particular puzzle. It might have been fun, but, then again, I sure don't think of Olympia as a "big city." Population is a little short of 45,000. And for that matter, you can count the number of nice ("special occasion") restaurants on one hand.

The one I struggled with was about somebody with the nickname "New York." I never heard of her, so I looked her up on Wikipedia. I've already forgotten who she was.

I collared her with Tiffany nicknamed and new.

Not sure how Barry would know about her.

I sure didn't. I was thinking Hillary.

You dont have me peggeed as reality show maven?
Well I suppose Next Top Model would be more my thing but Tila Tequila is great and as for Public Enemy's music ...need I say more?
Actually I was distracted to watch MTV by the show title I love New York; hinc illae lacrimae.
