I have read, with amusement and tolerance, complaints about other Sploofusers who have waited "way too long," so they say, for their quizzes to go live after launching. I thought they were expecting too much...but now it has happened to now it's serious.

I launched a quiz on 6/3. In the early hours of 6/4 (3:51 a.m.) a message was posted asking me to provide an on-line source, which I did, and I re-launched the quiz on 6/4 at approximately 6 a.m. For the last few days it has moved from 8 ahead to 5 ahead with a large number of other quizzes being launched.

Possibly there is a quite reasonable explanation for that one. However, I have since done a group of 5 "State Abbreviations from Capital Cities" quizzes, numbered 1-5. 1, 2, 4, and 5 went live on June 4th. #3 is still pending, with 6 quizzes now ahead in the review queue [queue is a difficult word to spell... but I digress]. Do editors get assigned quizzes when they may not be available to review them? Is there a reasonable explanation to answer my ranting?

Editors are not assigned a quiz initially (whatever one is next in the queue is the one we get), but once they start editing a quiz it is then owned by them. So when you resubmit it goes back to the original editor's queue. So the original editor might not have been back to editing yet. This could be due to work, family, obligations, etc... We try not to edit for a few days prior to taking a vacation. As we are volunteers with lives away from Sploofus though, sometimes unforseen things happen that keep us away for a few days.

I can certainly understand about the one where I was asked to provide additional information. The one that had me stumped was State Abbreviations from Capital Cities - #3, when #s 1,2,4,and 5 went live almost immediately, and I've not been asked to change or clarify the one that is still pending.

I apologize for my complaint and comments! My quiz just launched and I got an explanation for the delay from the Editor who had it and got swamped by his/her REAL job. Since all the Editors are volunteers, even the explanation was way above and beyond the call of duty! I have to remember that Editors are certainly allowed to have a life outside of Sploofus.

Again, sorry for my ranting, and thank you to ALL the Editors!

Your ranting helps clarify things to us who do not know the system and now we understand it a little better. Thanks Maurlin for your ranting - it helped!
