THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

So god was trying to push the commandments. He tried the French first. As soon as they heard about no adultery they were not interested. Next he tried the Germans. "No killing!", i think not they replied. So next he tried the Jews. "How much do they cost" the Jews asked. As soon as they were told they were free they said "We'll have ten".

Nah, they had some 630 which they scattered throughout the Old Testament - also for free, to their credit!
Some PC desk clerk whittled 'em down later.
(You watch the same progs that I watch!).

I'd heard it before, i think an Imam told me, but it did remind me. Great show.

I went "oh oh" when I saw a thread with a religious title started by Clevercloggs. Have to admit, that's sorta funny. What program did you all watch?

It's called "QI" and is chaired by Stephen Fry. It's a panel game of sorts, but extremely funny, and perhaps a little "up market".

It's one of my top 'must watch'. Can't therefore be upmarket!

well, if it's typical with British TV shows, we'll get it in ten years or so and they'll keep running it for 20 years!

Two of my favorites are Keeping Up Appearances and Are You Being Served? They probably aired there before you people were even born. I don't care how many times I watch it, I still laugh when Hyacinth walks past Onslow's car and the dog jumps up and barks at her and she falls back onto the bushes or the gate. Probably the reason I enjoy that show so much is because I have a relative like that.

"Can't therefore be upmarket"

That's my fave line of the year in Sploofus chat!

Salzypat:
"Are you being served" is positively antique - but, unfortunately, still well within my time! Sadly, the major cast figures are dying off - two this year.
But thoroughly approve your choice of both.
Many agree that the 'classic' shows are often way ahead of much of the pulp dished out these days.
Goodness knows the age of some of the US shows we avidly watch, similarly! (Is John Wayne dead yet? ........!).
'Neighbours' is a massive hit here in the UK (not by me!), yet is also an Australian antique, if there's such a thing - and not only that, but apparently was distinctly not watched in Oz!

Salzypat, Hyacinth also cracks me up. Especially when she is pronouncing her last name as "bouquet" and others want to call it "bucket."
