WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

My daughter, who lives in our guest house, just came over and informed me that my music was too loud.

Spare the cat o' nine tails, spoil the child. My son once backed over his golf clubs in my car and thought that I should buy him some new ones.

You obviously failed, in your parenting, to teach her the time-honored phrase, "You can never be too rich, too thin....or TOO LOUD!!"

That's hysterical! Did you tell her that she had set the example? Or, that she's getting old?

I just looked at her and said "So?"

I honestly laughed out loud on that one and I adore your response.

We are getting everything all spiffy for company this evening - we are having a back to school bonfire and are expecting about 50 people. I'm cleaning, the kids are cleaning their rooms, and Scott? Well Scott is working on his go-cart that he built. It is possible that I might be a widow by the end of the day.

Damn, wish I could be there. Maybe Scott is trying to get his go cart ready so he can zip around the bonfire?????

It should be a lot of fun. I also lived out in the country when I was a kid and my dad used to build us a big bonfire and I would have a bunch of friends over. I was thinking about how much fun that was and decided I would do the same for the kids, now that they are both in junior high. If the other kids show up with their drums & bass guitar, we will probably have some live music as well. C'mon over, Jeremy. If you leave now, you can still make it, or try to catch one of the Seattle to Pullman $49 tickets.

Well, I'm off to the store to buy marshmallows & hot dogs.

I also had the "life has come full circle" moment when my youngest son yelled down the steps to turn my music down.... and that year, he bought me Korns Greatest hits for Christmas, which he tossed to me and said "FREAK"

And I thought I had money until I had a baby around. I have twenty dollars until payday, lol. Live vicariously for me!

Lol Martina.

We and some friends have started the fall bonfire tradition as well. Last year we were up to 15, maybe. So we've got a long way to go to reach your numbers, Lodi. This year's will be mid-October. Make your travel arrangements now, folks.

Gosh - I haven't lived anywhere there wasn't a burn ban in years. I could start a little fire in the bathtub next to the faucet, but I think I'd miss the spirit of the thing.

Unless burning chicken on the stove counts.

LOL Jank, don't think it counts!
Went to a bonfire myself last night. Only a few of us but just love a campfire.

I survived just fine. It was fun, none of the kids managed to spontaneously combust. A lot of hot dogs and marshmallows were consumed, music was played, some adult beverages enjoyed (by the adults), and only one kid got stranded that I had to run back into town.

It has been determined that it will be an annual event.

Neat. Kids love traditions, even if they act like they don't.
