FORMER PRESIDENT CARTER GIVES HIS OPINION TO MAJOR ROLE IN OPPOSITION

Former President Carter was born into the southern part of the USA which didn't equate African-Americans as equals. He is now speaking out about what seems to be a resurgunce and the appeal some Right Wing-ers like to employ as a method to not recognize the President as a legitimate , educated, brilliant constitutional scholar that he is.

If any of you were a tea party-er or a 9-12 who carried a sign that read something comparable to "President Obama belongs on my plantation". Maybe you had a sign which had the picture of a lion with a bone in his nose whose implication was President Obama is the "lion (lying) president with a bone in his nose". Maybe you think the president is equivalent to Hitler.

This is the Salty Dog where we all come to discourse whether we are in unison or not.

Kudos to Former President Jimmy Carter for having the courage to speak out from a position of non-coloured person!

Really sick, Beverly.

Obama is failing. So it must be because of racism???

He can't even get enough of his party behind him to pass major legislation.

Nothing to do with racism. Everything to do with inexperience and incompetence.

Leave it to a really failed President, Clueless Jimmy, to stretch for such a convenient - and divisive - excuse.

9 months of fixing the Bush policies of 8 years which destroyed our financial infrastructure.....yet he is a failed President? Thats rich after the likes of Bush. Seriously...its hard to hide the racism that he is facing, because it is so blatent. Even here on this board. This is a site of highly intelligent people, if people think their racism isn't obvious they are mistaken.

Nothing to do with race, Sheral.

Incidentally the policies that eventually allowed our financial system to collapse originated in the Clinton administration, and from what I read in the Intl Herald Tribune (read New York Times overseas) yesterday in Sicily, the financial world under Obama is even more leveraged than it was a year ago.

But do keep citing racism if that feeble excuse suits your partisan purposes.

You seem to think it should have been fixed in a month. I know you are realistic, how long do you think it should take to fix a depression that started 3 years ago?

The democrats you are talking about are blue dogs mostly Dixiecrats (yellow, hound, dogs) who opposed integration and equal rights for African Americans. So no surprise there, they rode on the coattails of a young, brilliant, Barack Obama to get elected. Now they they have shown their true colors. Were you born in the old South? Did you carry those types of nutty signs in the sixties or at a present day tea partys? Or did you contribute to Joe Wilson's pathetic appeal to keep his salient partisan stunts to keep his hopeless campaign alive as well as overt racism?

Crying Racism didn't work to his advantage when he shoyt off his mouth after the Gates arrest during prime time without the facts. That hubris man came as close to apologizing for that as he wil ever get-the grace of the cop saved his butt,. Wisloson apologizrd for the inapproprate place where he shouted . People who are genuinely acting out of racial hatred deserve to be called on it. But too many people on the left are using the term too widely and it's breeding resentment. Those who oppose Obama's policies shouldn't have to walk on eggshells in expressing their opinions, as long as they do so without regard to race and with the proper amount of respect for the President.
I'm sure that the people who oppose Obama's policies, many of whom are independents who have drifted away from Obama, will not take kindly to being accused of being racist.

While Carter is obviously right in decrying comparisons between Obama and Hitler and saying Presidents should be treated with respect, his selectivity is nauseating. Did he sleep through the past eight years (I suspect it's more likely that he agreed with the Bush=fascist mantra from the left)?

I think most of us have learned to take his opinions with more than the proverbial grain of salt. Concerning racism, with the history of this country it is not surprising that a marginal remnant of racism expresses itself in the political arena. Like any extreme opinion, that just can't be ignored - BUT I do not believe that this is a major part of the opposition to Obama.

Statements like his have the potential to rip the already torn political fabric of the country wide open. Thanks for the calming words, Jimmy, Mr. Peace Prize winner.

We're very close to the end of the race label's radioactivity. People have not been circumspect about how they use it. Once it achieves the status of "bitch" or "bastard," its rhetorical usefulness is finished.

It is precisely racists who play and overplay the race card oh-so-often. I tired of this BS long ago.

This was supposed to be the post-racial President.

Instead he injects himself into the Skip Gates flap (which was never about race but might have been about class with Gates coming from the superior class) and tries to make it into a racial incident - and it cost him bigtime as it should have.

Lets not get into the signs carried against Bush . Was that racism? Don't think so-think they did not like his policies or even Bush the man. Nixon and Johnson really brought out the ugly signs-don't think those were racially motivated either. If Obama wants to be the President of Black America he should have said so. Wow, you lost it!!!!!!!!!
Neither President Obama or the White house have weighed in. President Carter did.
Of course it wasn't racism for Bush. There were no incendiary racial overtones on the signs. I do recall President Obama speaking at the Democratic 2000 convention we shouldn't be red, blue or purple states; we should be the United States

One more salient fact: more Whites voted for Obama with Black America; that's another reason he is the President of America. Comprende?

Andy why would you be so shocked at the drug trade in an obviously impoverished country. Goddess and Madame however thinly veiled it is there is racism even on SD. Obama is going to have an uphill battle for the rest of his term. I knew that even before he was elected. This happens whenever there is even a moderated in office. They hated Clinton, and Carter, and only now that he is long dead and assasinated do they have anything good to say about Kennedy. They are all to willing to have us forget about the Bushes, the Nixons et all.

It was very up close and personal, Bobo.

All of a sudden the guy next to me whips out a whistle and blows it for 15 seconds. And he was a scary fella, his weird smile (Odile said he was juiced with drugs himself), his rugged manner - someone you didn't want to have any interaction with. Then I see a younger guy walking down the opposite side of the street with a package under his arm. The whistling stops when he turns the corner. Then behind me I see an creepy older guy in mostly black watching the whole thing with the same kind of package under his arm. I'd seen enough. The bus couldn't come soon enough.

"Chip Saltsman, candidate for RNC Chair, sent out a "Barack the Magic Negro" CD to his fellow RNC members. Now, Rupert Murdoch, owner of Fox News and a large RNC contributor, has his NY Post newspaper publish an extremely racist cartoon against Obama's Stimulus package. "

I cant post the cartoon, the link is too big. A dead monkey and a caption saying "They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill".

Are there racists out there? Yes. Are they the majority? No.

Do you really think that if Obama was white, that I, or anyone else, would support his stupid stimulus bill, the health care bill, cap and tax, or anything else he promotes?

At his final news conference Monday morning as commander-in-chief, President Bush stood by his decision to support the U.S. Treasury Department’s injection of billions of dollars into the economy to unfreeze the financial markets.

Asked by a reporter whether he would ask for the remaining $350 billion in economic stimulus money before President-elect Barack Obama steps in, Bush said he had spoken with Obama and told him he would ask for the money if Obama asks for Bush’s help in making the request before leaving office.

and of course all are not racist...the ones who are obvious though.

Fox needs to give some serious business to its sheepish Nation like trying to debunk the lies they tell and help the President instead of constantly trying to destroy America.

Several quick points:

1. President Obama is not the only president ever to be compared to Hitler.
2. Racists do exist.
3. It is possible for a white person to disagree with President Obama without race playing any part.
4. It is possible for a black person to disagree with President Bush without race playing any part.
5. Just because Jimmy Carter says it, it isn't necessarily so.
6. Jimmy Carter does not speak for me.

Just curious...

This is directed toward those who think that everyone or most who disagree's with Obamas policies are racists.

Question: As Obama is only 1/2 black, does that mean I'm only half racist?

How do you know I'm not disagreeing with his "white" half? and of course, how would YOU even know anyway?

Wow, first of all, you're getting me confused with someone else. I NEVER said anything to you about Krauthammer.

You're "amused and shocked" about the name calling, but then you make fun of the man's name (not to mention his disability). either that, or you're a horrible speller. I don't know if I got his name spelled right, but I'm close enough to know that yours is either way off or on purpose.

Secondly, I assume you're referring to tea party demonstrators who "attacked" the President's ethnicity, not me, since I have never done so. So, since you're talking about them, you're talking about a VERY few people that the left-wing media showed in order to make people think (and you fell for it, or you're stupid) that all of the demonstrators were like that, when the facts show that those extremists were in the great minority.

I saw that!

Accusing us of racism because we are so opposed to this president's wild spending and communist ties has only one purpose - to get people off topic, trying to prove they are not racists. They don't think we're racists. In fact, they're scared to death of us because we're NOT racists. If we were, they could easily defeat us.

But this time, we have the truth and facts on OUR side and they have nothing but a president who has said one thing and done another, who is inexcusable and who cannot be defended with facts.

So - don't be sidetracked by the accusation of 'racism'. We know we're not racist. They know we're not racist. That's just the only trick in their bag - that's all they've got.

Don't give them the time of day.

"March 19, 2007

Obama the 'Magic Negro'
The Illinois senator lends himself to white America's idealized, less-than-real black man.
By David Ehrenstein

AS EVERY CARBON-BASED life form on this planet surely knows, Barack Obama, the junior Democratic senator from Illinois, is running for president. Since making his announcement, there has been no end of commentary about him in all quarters — musing over his charisma and the prospect he offers of being the first African American to be elected to the White House.

But it's clear that Obama also is running for an equally important unelected office, in the province of the popular imagination — the 'Magic Negro'."

Mr. Ehrenstein's mother is African American.

It wasn't a white person or a white republican or a white anything.

The song was written as a parody of Mr. Ehrenstein's outrageous article. Or at least I thought it was outrageous. But that's just me.

I'm coming in late here ...
Black & white (in the UK sense!) US politics seem again to the fore here.
I saw the Carter speech.
Here we had a white Southern plantation owner (albeit now without slaves) BEMOANING the fact that racism was still around (which, of course, it is), and absolutely NOT condoning it.
Yet we still get the same predictable responses according to whoever is Democrat or Republican.
Can a Republican never praise Obama? Can a Democrat never disagree with him?
We sure do the equivalent within the UK - it's called proper politics.

First of all, proud and bold does not negate paranoid.

I am not a racist. Ask any of my black students. Ask my black colleagues. Ask my black nephews and niece. Ask anyone who actually knows me.

I don't know what surroundings you're speaking of, but I can say that even here in Tennessee, not nearly as many people are racists as the media would like you to think. Again, paranoid at most, misinformed at the least.

Actually, the black people are already here in our community, and I'm not afraid of them. And if you don't think ACORN is a problem, then you're just plain stupid. Some of us have seen the truth about this organization for a long time now. Finally, everyone can see it. If you can't admit it, you're part of the problem.

Again, I have no problem with a black president. I have a problem with a president who is trying to change the very fundamentals of our country. If you can't see this, you're the one that's in denial.

Obama is just the front man. Most of the policies come from a cadre of white folk ... think David Axelrod, Gregory Craig, James Jones, Lawrence Summers and Rahm Emanuel ... hardly chosen for their race. Even Jon Favreau and the speech writers are mostly white. One who thinks color has anything to do with anything is about as dumb as Jimmy's brother ... Racism was a scourge. However, to continue it is silly. Using it as an excuse is very very bad because you then continue to make it an issue. I have no idea why race should be considered in deciding who is more important. Didn't we agree long ago that race should not be considered.

I'm assuming since you take your marching orders from the FOX NEWS that would be a bad for Bobby's second amendment rights.

BOBBY is a true race-baiter!
****************************************************************************************************
Linda, what you call race-baiting I call representation. The Senate should reflect a segment of every American familiar with an understanding of their needs. There have only been 4 African American senators since 1881. When Roland leaves that seat goes up for grabs. There will be no African American representation if Bobby does advocate for an African American.

Excuse me, Beverly, but are you suggesting that only African-American politicians can effectively represent African-Americans?

That's rather racist, you know.

Where I used to live the elected officials represent ALL the people, regardless of race, color, creed . . .

We call that the American way.

What kind of country are you talking about?

Not exactly, Andy.
As it now now stands Ronald Burris, the very maligned senator, whom you probably are just as aware of as I am since you lived in the Chicago land area; represents African Americans and all others.

But, when it comes to the needs of the African American community Roland can articulate and understand the needs better since he is an African American.

Judge Alitio said the same thing about Italians.

Simply put, in your day there were No Civil Rights Laws, therefore only white people represented white people in this country. Was it racist then that minorities and women were excluded. Do think Alito was racist by saying he could represent Italitians and minorites cannot ask for their representatives?

No, Beverly, in my day and my day is still happening, representatives represent all of their constituents. No one is or was excluded.

It is only via your twisted racial politics that you think that elected officials of a particular race, color, creed . . . represent only constituents of that particular race, color, creed . . .

(FYI I don't know exactly what Alito said, but Italian cases on the Supreme Court are indeed very rare. So it really doesn't matter.)

You're older than me, Andy. So you're saying it was fair to disallow colored people to drink from the same fountain White people did. Was it fair white people got better jobs, housing and education; or were denied any of all of these. Remember those were your constituents who represented all of the people. I think not Black were just as existent then as they are now.

Andy, I sure I hope not as I have lived through several generations and those days of seeing Black people being lynched, having to drink from separate fountains, having to go in back doors, having bricks and rocks thrown at me because I was in a white neighborhood, or participated in the turbulent 60s civil rights marched.

I've seen it get better especially through see my children's eyes and the younger generation even here on sploofus.

But you know Andy, the ones who are really going to suffer are those resistant to the change. Yet, It's those Fat Corporate Cats who are using the racial aspect to further their greed by playing into that fringe segment's fears of a black man being CIC.

Like you said it should be the issues and not the color. also today. Andy, 2 acts of violence have occured i'm as a result . I 'll look them up and get back with them later. A Jewish guy from the 9/ 12 and a Black lady.

Good Gawd Man!
I dont too much even try to post on subjects like these cause everybody has their own personal opinion and not everybody is going to agree all the time which is ok. But Beverly why is it that You are the one starting these particular subjects knowing good and well it will end up with a bunch of anger-hatin'-name calling etc. It just dont make no sense. And why do you have to bring up Carter? It's not like we all don't remember... I think you had to had to find someone who made tons of mistakes and pissed off alot of people.......,just to justify your precious Obama and his stinkin lying mouth. And btw I have awarded you a special name just for you........Ms.Drama Queen! Have A Pretty Day

********************************************************************************************************************************
Lady, let me get this straight… First of all, I didn't think the thread would go any where. I posted it because I wanted to know what other people thought. Because “it doesn't make sense to you and you don't usually participate too much in subjects like these because everybody has their own personal opinion”; I find ironic that you participated just to scold me LOL.

Yes, President Obama is very precious to me and lots and lots of other people, If I were you I'd watch the things I'd say. If you don't believe me let something happen to him and see what happens. It's the stinkin lies being perpetuated by people who have gotten some clueless fringe individuals because this clueless fringe is the conduit for the "Big Fat Robber Barons" to continue the status quo (obscene profits). I haven't seen as many lies coming from this President as I have the Bushes and Regan; especially the Big Right Lie (Iraq).

How did all those tax cuts work out for you and the rest of this country? I don't really know your economic situation; but if it’s the same as mine and many, many, other Americans then your lying stinkin mouth remark is w-a-a-a-a--a -y, w-a-a-a-a--a -y, w-a-a-a-a--a -y, w-a-a-a-a--a -y off base. Max Baucus has evidenced that with his "Super Max" give away proposal yesterday to the Insurance Companies.

The next thing, you think I wanted to bring out the worst in any and everyone, again you’re wrong. I believe we are adults and can communicate on any level even if the most heartfelt answers are to some or anyone’s dislike. I wanted to discuss how the covert prominent, incendiary, signs factor into the President’s nationality; hoping many would agree with ex-President Carter. When a human advances to age , there can be a lot of wisdom to impart.

Not every one hates President Carter. I applaud President Carter for two reasons. He kept us out of a war and he is absolutely correct in his courageous statements about the race factor. Neither do I think we should sweep issues like this under the rug.
I don’t have a trendy, little, name tag similar to the “Ms Drama Queen” you gave me. However, I will say this, GROW UP.

Andy, what makes you think I think you're a bigot. Bigot, I don't think is a term I use. I prefer others. Yes, we did chose to live in Evanston; and guess what? During that time I saw very little racism. When I would talk like that to other African American about the tremendous difference between Evanston and Chicago, they called me crazy. They also told me stories of how they couldn't be treated at Evanston Hospital and had to go to Community Hospital plus other similar stories of unfair treatment from Evanstionans' walking/talking griots, so to speak.
I really enjoyed listening to moments of glimpses of Evanston's past because it's great to me when you experience the history of another people.

I agree, Beverly. There is surely racism in Chicago which we saw in spades when the mole-like Republican Bernard Epton almost defeated Harold Washington for mayor in 1983. The city is carved up into ethnic neighborhoods.

In contrast in Evanston there is very little racism. The mayor when I left was a very gracious, beautifully spoken unifying black lady - Lorraine Morton - loved by all. FYI I lived in several integrated neighborhoods there - but that doesn't really matter.

You defend the indefensible and attack the messengers. But nothing said or done changes the truth.

I hope the lawsuit moves quickly, because now not only will the attorneys be involved, obviously so will Congress. No matter how liberal the representative, they're not going down with a sinking ship.

I agree with Linda here too. ACORN has many names and many poisonous tentacles threaded throughout the country. It will take years to untangle this cancerous, horrible mess.

I wonder how many other underage girls ACORN has helped place into prostitution in the US? They didn't bat an eye to hesitate. They even mentioned what they "always do" in those situations.

They were are are deliberately being rolled out slowly not only to expose ACORN but most of the media who chose to ignore them like Van Jones thing until it just became too big for them to ignore. They have basicallty done the same thing with the ACORN scandal-CNN going so far as to impune the motives of the youg people who made the videos. Those young people have said they would appear on CNN and take the hit/grilling if CNN agreed to air the videos. The Breitbart site supplies accompanying transcripts to all the videos. Do you know even you can dub President Obama's or any voice on any tape?

I maintain they are stalkers not messengers. I'll bet there are no prostitutes involved.Once again to claim you're worried about large government and taxpayer waste while fixating on ACORN proves the insincerity of the ostensible concern, let alone your cheering Wall Street banks, defense contractors, and insurance industries that control and expand government power for their own benefit.

ACORN has received a grand total of $53 million in federal funds over the last 15 years. In contrast trillions of dollars of public funds have been, in the last year alone, transferred to or otherwise used for the benefit of Wall Street. Billions of dollars in American taxpayer money has disappeared, by private contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan, led by Halliburton subsidiary KBR.

Don't forget Blackwater/Xe security's in Afghanistan rapes that were reported worldwide. Those were poor people taken advantage of in those orgies.

I hope once the investigation and ligation is done FOX will be exposed for the Fraud they are just like that silly Birther, Orly Taitz, who looked so stupid with her repeated frivolous birth certificate lawsuit. The judge will sanction here if she keeps it up.

I've heard that desperate attempt before. I used to transcribe police reports. I'll never forget one from the school policeman at one of our highschools. There were 2 boys "locker shopping" and they were caught on hall recording doing so - one as the lookout, the other going locker to locker to find one unlocked holding anything of worth.

The video also showed where the boys hid their stash.

They were called in to the principal's office with parent and campus police and they all watched the video together. One of the boys broke down and apologized, full of fear.

The other one obnoxiously claimed the tape had been altered. hahahahahahahahahaha

I really don't want to sound as if I'm snapping or belittling you. I have a lot more than what you think. I have sense enough to realize when something is not right. Why is Fox News obsessed with President Obama? I mean every grip is to facial proportions? Can't you even think for yourself? It's like they pull something out of their a*** very morning. It 's okay to disagree; but to spread deliberate lies and spew hatred and potential violence causes me great concern. I fear for type of divisiveness to this land and our President. Jan, your state said it wants to secede and doesn't care if there is violence involved; all over lies coming from the arm of extreme Right wing Republicans who control Fox. It's the worst I've ever seen in my life.

Beck and his Czars' fixation have led clueless people to thinking US is going to be like communist Russia which doesn't even exist anymore; for example. Now that it was debunked, they come with this drop in the bucket tax dollar corruption Acorn. they could find other agencies. they wer afraid of ACORN because they delivered legal votes. When people register as Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse cannot legally vote.

Bertha Lewis has maintained since last year that ACORN wasn't going to apply for the stimulus money. Yet, Fox harped day after day they will get stimulus money. I wish I had a dollar for every time you throw the tired accusation against Texas. It's tiresome and silly. Go talk to the governor - my stand for the United States is clear. It's like you enjoy banging your head against a brick wall.

As soon as there is any action on Texas seceding, we can have the discussion. Fox and Texas seceding. You are a tiresome, hate-filled, belittling (though you OBVIOUSLY don't want to be!!!!!) broken record about so many things.

Linda, Maybe since FOX lies and dubs tape (like they allegedly did the ACORN tapes) it would be a waste of time. No matter what he says Fox is going to interpret (if they don't doctor the interview tape) to the segment of their clueless Nation the opposite (Another LIE Or more Lies). Since some of the Fox viewers watch to monitor the lies or be entertained like me, there is no reason for the President to speak there as there will be 4 other ventures.

Maybe the President said since you didn't air my Joint Session Speech F** * Fox. I don't know these are just a few of my speculations; among other things.

He is way too busy to commit political suicide. He will be on Meet the Press acknowledging the racial factor is a distraction. The important issue(s) are mainly healthcare and you know that.

The President is way about expectations and the fray. He knows it exists and that it's coming from sheepish, cowards, taking their marching orders from Insurance and Oil executives plus their conduit FOX (FAUX)news.

Seems to me, amongst all this, apart from other considerations, we have all the deficiencies of virtual two-party democracies, as in both the US and the UK.
Whoever is the President/Prime Minister, almost half of the population are going to be agin him/her from the start!
From the UK I've no flag to fly for Obama or whoever.
But it does seem to me that criticism within months of election has to be due to policies rather than effectiveness. And all already criticising policies probably started on Day 1, and will continue to do so in the several years to come, irrespective.
Those defending, likewise.
It is far to early to criticise or praise Obama's effectiveness, albeit re introducing policies inevitably disliked by towards half the population.
We have the same ills of virtual two-party elections in the UK. The only (and more representative) answer seems to be proportional representation, with all its own ills.
No-one's come up with the answer to that one yet!

It's not that simple, Alan, esp when Obama campaigned promising a new politics and, alas, he has plunged head first into the old.

There is a sizable and growing block of independents in the USA and they are already sour on Obama - because he has acted in a rather partisan manner and because he hasn't produced much of anything, nothing as regards the economy despite the Stimulus Package he rushed thru.

None of the world economies are really turning round yet, neither those based on financial stimulus nor those based on cost-cutting. It's going to take time, whoever is the chief man/woman.
And seems to me that much of the ire/defence re Obama is precisely because of his 'new' politics.

That's the pont Valentré, the stunning medieval bridge over the Lot at Cahors, one of my favorite spots in France. I was just there in April for my 6th-7th-8th? time, and I spent my usual 45 minutes walking on it and gazing at it. It was built in the 1300s during the Hundred Years War. Until the 1990s you could drive over it.

Replace it? It's still rather warm down here. But will look for another.

Okay Andy, Let me shelve the addicted to oil, international shrub, cowboy, President G. W.Bush who bushwhacked US into a fake war, with his globalization dreams not; to mention his domestic failures. As far as the North Korean government is concerned it was the Bush administration that undermined Carter’s work there with the same bipolar, cowboy, diplomacy against North Korea as the part of an "Axis of Evil which G. W.Bush preferred to evoke.

Carter, on the hand, Carter was…
• IMO, the first energy Czar since he believed in energy conservation and installed solar panels in the White House plus wore sweaters while turning down the heat
• Carter received the Nobel Peace Prize
• Carter was never a segregationist, and refused to join the segregationist White Citizens' Council
• Founded The Carter Center in 1982, a nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization that works to advance human rights
• Carter is a co-founder in the Habitat for Humanity
• Carter was a Lieutenant in the Navy Communications Officer, Sonar Officer, Electronics Officer, Gunnery Officer, and Supply Officer
• A wealthy peanut farmer entrepreneur
• Has received honorary degrees from many American and foreign colleges and universities.
• USS Jimmy Carter was the first ship of the United States Navy to be named for former President
• Carter has written numerous books; I belive it to be 22.

Can you say all that about GW Bush? The verdict for GW Bush is waiting for him. As it now stands Carter can go to his grave knowing his history because he accomplished things to make the world a better place. As for G.W. Bush wait and see.

Thanks

No, Alan. Independents have no party. They voted for Obama and they are no longer happy with him.

We haven't had a middle of the road President for a long time. So that would be new. When I have a moment this week, I will try to find some text from Obama on this.

Finally, he has passed only one major piece of legislation, a stimulus bill he said would keep unemployment from exceeding 8%. It's now 9.7%.

Linda, Fox keeps a daily toll of wasted stimulus money; but not Billions of dollars in American taxpayer money that disappeared, by private contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan, led by Halliburton subsidiary KBR????LOL

Maybe if the FOX -AFICATION of the Green Guy, Van Jones, who has an expertise in that area, he could worked towards a solution. But, as usual, FOX -AFICATION is a method of exploitation that the Fox Nation uses to devoid its nation of those clueless, people, of rational, critical thinking.
I don't know the issues, but based on the lies Fox’s (FAUX) News provides such as pulling the plug on granny, President Obamsa's healthcare for illegal immigrants, YOU LIE, and other lies ad infintium; this is probably another lie. tsk tsk

Frankly, most if not all of US media have lost all credence in the UK since the run-up to Iraq.
There was barely a dissenting voice to unilateral invasion, while in the UK some 80% of media and people were against (to no avail thanks to the now-proven machinations of Blair).
By all means show me a US major media front page headlining opposition to invasion, if it exists.
Go back and read US media reports prior to invasion for real embarassment.
Sorry if you feel I'm wrong, but that's now the prevailing opinion here, a totally partisan media (whichever way).
We, too, obviously have our idiot papers in the same vein, but we also have many sane media from where we can get real news.
