FOR ALL HERE INTERESTED IN ENGLISH HISTORY ...

A massive Anglo-Saxon hoard has just been discovered within the Anglo-Saxon kingdom of Mercia (Staffordshire).
Far larger than the famous Sutton Hoo, and described by some as more significant than finding Tut's tomb (maybe an exaggeration but shows the importance).
The finder is due for over £1,000,000.
Mostly, though, it's giving examples by the score of items for which previously we might only have had one.
The photos issued to date of golden objects are outstandingly beautiful.
Get ready for years of research, books, documentaries!
Wonderful stuff.
Google away on - anglo-saxon hoard staffordshire - for latest details.
Enjoy!

How fantastic. I'm betting that the farmer that sold the land to the present owner is absolutely sick!

Fascinating on so many levels. I'm glad there's a process set up so the lucky finder can get his fabulous rewards without ruining the academic value of his find. Think I'll buy some stock in a metal detector manufacturer. Thanks, Alan!
