I had COMCAST back in Georgia. The guy sleeping on the couch is management material compared to what we had. They are undoubtedly the worst provider in this country.

Everyone I have EVER known that used longer uses them. I would find a new provider quickly.

My son works for Comcast as a customer service technician. He spent good money at a computer training school to get a degree. He's tech savvy.

I don't like Comcast personally [anti-union] but it's a monopoly cable system in York. Capitalism and free enterprise!

I'll send him this transcript , so he and his co-workers can get a laugh.

I like Comcast. It's one of the only providers in my area that doesn't force you to be on a contract. I hate contracts. However, I have had nearly the same experience (as the one listed above) with nearly every service provider in my area. I guess they think as long as they all agree to provide the worst possible customer service ignoring the incentive to compete, they can all get away with it?

I am on a contract, have to have them here.

Turns out they GAVE my number back to Verizon whom I left to go to Comcast in July. They had no reason for it, just a mistake according to the tech. I will not get incoming calls for 3-5 business days while they get the number back. Idiots.

Comcast thinks emails from my ISP are SPAM, and bounces 'em back at me. I have to send emails to any Comcast recipients from my Gmail address so they will get thru.

I have Time Warner and have found that if I actually call someone, I usually get something fixed ASAP. The online tech help is similar to what you experienced. What they wanted to send a tech out in 3-5 days was fixed within 30 seconds of a phone call.

They said I could have it fixed immediately if I change my number. I have had the same number for years so I didnt want to change it. All my bill collectors have it...I would miss their phone calls tremendously.

Sorry to laugh at your miserable experience, but it is like so many calls I've made on computer technical assistance, phone service, etc.! The only problem was, you couldn't understand what they were saying. Don't know what country they were in, but their English wasn't the same as my English.

It's so darned frustrating it just makes you laugh 'cause that's all you can do.

There's a LOQ (Line of Questioning) for every possible type of call you get. This person obviously did not deviate from it. Call Verizon and tell them the same thing and see what they do.

I have Comcast for cable tv and internet. Have had very good luck with reliability and communication but I was warned by a reliable source to avoid their phone service and I have.

I get so torqued when you get crappy customer service. I had tracfone for my kids because they didn't use cell phones except to keep in contact with me when I was commuting. But as they got older and started texting, I realized I needed a plan change. We had some tracfone issues and I got on the phone and it was the most miserable experience EVER. I finally asked "Where in the world am I calling?" The answer? Central America. WTF?

So I canceled and added them to my plan. Now if I need customer service, I just drop in at the store.

At one point, years ago on here, I posted a link that had all the major companies and how to get immediately to a person when calling rather than their automated system. Of course, I can't find the link now and we can't search the threads. Shame because it was a really neat link.
