Hello Everyone,
I'm finally home from Roswell Park Cancer Institute(near Buffalo, NY--5 /12 hours away from home). I made it through all my chemo sessions finally, after the blood infection cleared up. I can't believe how big my desktop seems now, after using my laptop that took me forever to get used to. Well, I will be using the laptop is the kicker(no pun intended) LOL I slipped getting out of the shower the other day and tore cartilage, ligaments and whatever else is in the knee. I am wearing a brace from the thigh all the way down my leg for now. I am on prophylactic antibiotics and am taking pain killers that i refused for my mastectomy. Advil is not touching the knee pain, so I am cutting the Perkocet in half, as I do NOT tolerate narcotics very well. I'm goofy enough, no help needed there, thank you. LOL I had to bring the MRI's to a local orthopedic surgeon with me today. I go back in the hospital(locally) on Monday for knee reconstruction, then soon after that I go in for breast reconstruction. As long as these surgeons don't mix up body parts, I'll be peachy! ROFL-must be the dope working!
Anyway, I want to thank you all again for your prayers, well wishes, and very thoughtful posts and pm's that you sent to me. Having all of you here made my very loooooongggg hospital visit much brighter.

Laurie! Bless your heart!

I'm so glad you're finished with chemo, but that shower thing! I'm so sorry!

You know that poem "Footprints in the Sand"?

I'm praying that for you.

God doesn't slip and He won't drop you! Please please take it easy, ok? Be overly generous with yourself. You deserve it!

It seems Laurie you are having more than your share of problems, but I really admire the way you seem to be dealing with them.

My prayers and best wishes are with you, and I hope it's not long until you are seeing nothing but sunshine and rainbows. May God bless you and keep your spirits high.

Yeah, Laurie! That is really wonderful news! (not the part about the shower) You are such a positive and caring lady - best of everything to you going forward.

And please do not let them put boobs on your knees - it wouldn't be right.

Yeah, it should be another 15 years before boobs on the knees is appropriate and natural.

Thank you so much for all your kind and funny posts. Laughter releases endorphines, your own hormones to make you feel good. Sure beats that dope they gave me! I'm dangerous with that crap! Really not in the mood to hobble into walls tonight. LOL

I'm glad you're home and that the doctors were able to help you Laurie. Science, used properly, is a wonderful thing.

Glad you are home! Reminds me of two stories:

A prisoner who had gall bladder surgery, an appendectomy, knee replacement and hip replacement while in prison was called into the warden's office. There, he was told he would have five years onto his sentence for trying to escape - one piece at a time.

Another fellow read in the paper (remember newspapers?) that most accidents happen within 25 miles of home. So he moved.

Micheal, you always have something funny on here. So far my prison sentence would be 7 years for trying to escape one piece at a time. ROFL

Thank you Dave and Jeannette for the well wishes!
Dave, years ago I became an organ donor.. I'm running out of them! LOL I no longer qualify to be a donor, but you're right about Science being a wonderful thing...when used properly.

Have a Happy Saturday everybody.
