Forgive the intrusion. This from a Cowboy fan who has always cheered for the Saints (when not playing Dallas). It is about time New Orleans had a team capable of winning it all. From their inaugural game where they ran the opening kickoff for a TD yet lost the game the Saints have had some bad luck. Missing going to the playoffs on last second fieldgoals by the opposition and missed extra points. For years the only hilight was the 63 yard field goal by Dempsey. Perhaps the last two weeks will be a learning experience. After all it took the Steelers 40 years to make the playoffs (1932 to 1972 in the NFC).
BTW in my opinion Ben Roethlisberger is the best QB in pro football.

I remember back in the 90s when the Cowboys were playing in the superbowl for the first time in awhile.

Every other street corner had a display of Cowboy shirts and gear, cars were shoe polished up, honking all over the place. It was madness - but tons of fun.

By the third in a row, everybody was all "ho-hum" about it, which I think is sad - they worked just as hard for the third one as they did for the first.

Enjoy every second of the excitement - Saints fans deserve every second of the revelry.

Oh this is going to be a game. I can honestly say, I am rooting for both teams to win..... weird I know, but I love the Saints and the year they had, but I am partial to the Cardinals.... what? A Steeler fan is a Cards fan? Well, they were great coaches when they were with the Steelers and Russ Grimm is truly a local boy done good around here! I was in high school a year behind him, and he is the biggest thing to come out of our tiny high school. Felix, I rarely say things I don't mean.
Russ Grimm, was indeed the quarterback of the Southmoreland Scotties.

I had to look up Russ Grimm on wikipedia, and found this
"Grimm punted, played quarterback and linebacker at Southmoreland High School while earning nine varsity letters and starring on the basketball team."
He WAS the football team! God Bless our Scotties, but they are, have been, and most likely always will be a TERRIBLE football team. That being said, the games are well attended and the team supported. Never mind that their last win, was when the opposing team forfeited because they were on strike!

Well, I'm happy for the Saints, but they were outplayed. Minnesota undone by its Achilles heal - turnovers.

Will watch the whole game again soon.

WHO DAT!!

Way to go. A victory for the city as well as the team.

Brett Favre's last pass as a Packer was intercepted. His last pass as a Jet was intercepted. His last pass (as of yesterday) as a Viking was intercepted. No wonder he does not want to retire.

The Cajun who died and went to hell

The devil assigned him the usual punishment...put him in the mass pit where the heat was melting others. The devil came back sometime later surprised to find the Cajun just sitting around, not even misting, much less sweating. "How come you're not so much as sweating here where everyone else is screaming for relief from the heat?"

The Cajun laughed and said, "Man, I was raised in the bayous of Sout Looziana.. Dis ain't nothin' but May in Lafayette to me!"

The devil decided to really put the Cajun through it. He put him in a sealed off cave in the pit with open blazes and four extra furnaces blasting. When he came back, days later, the Cajun was sitting pretty, had barely begun to bead up with sweat. The devil was outraged. "How is this possible!? You should be melted to a shrieking puddle in these conditions!."

The Cajun laughed even harder than before. "Hey, man! I done tole you. I was raised in Sout Looziana. You tink dis is heat?! Dis ain't nothin' but August in Jennings!"

So the devil thought, 'Alright, a little reverse ought to do the trick.' He put the Cajun into a corner of hell where no heat ever reached. It was freezing and to add to the Cajun's misery, he added massive icebergs and blasting frozen air. When he returned, the Cajun was shivering, ice hung from every part of him but he was grinning like it was Christmas.

Exasperated, the devil asked "HOW!? How is it possible?! You're impervious to heat and here you sit in conditions you can't be used to...freezing cold and yet you're happier than if you were in heaven.. WHY?!"

The Cajun kept grinning and asked, "Dis mean de Saints won da Super Bowl?"

Heartiest congratulations to the Aints who ain't the Aints no mo.

The Colts were favored because they have the best player in the game, but I felt the Saints had a better, more-rounded team and I stayed with them all the way as I watched the second half while you were sleeping.

Anyhoo how could I root for the Colts who with Bad Rex beat my Bears three years ago?

People will be talking about that onside kick to start the second half for years. What a gutsy call, and what a second half for our Saints!
