THE BAR IS OPEN

The Tiki Bar is open and I'll be serving drinks. This should be a real hoot since I don't drink, don't know the first thing about drinks - well except for herbal tea.

I just figured everyone was about to the point of needing a drink about now. I'll have herbal tea and water with lemon slices for the non-drinkers who join me.

Justin, what's your favorite drink? I figure you've earned one by now. I'll try to find a book that tells me how to make it. (ROFL - That should be some drink if I have to find a recipe!!)

Uhhh, Jeannette, how much whiskey and how much lemonade do I use? (!)

Lodi, yours is easy - that one I can figure out! Go on over to The Island. We need someone willing to sing and/or play the piano.

Ok, but you're going to have to add some rum to the diet coke for that. Lots of rum.

Well Donden, even I know you have to be more specific than just beer. Regular or lite? what brand? Tap or bottle?

OK, whiskey and lemonade for Jeannette, diet Coke and lotsa rum for Lodi, strawberry daiquiri for Bigmama, a hot toddy for Irishpainter -- errr, for Irishpainter's friend who has a sore throat -- Malibu Rum for F5laur's diet Pepsi (and not much ice). The only recipe I could find for a VAT was a frat vat and it is enough to fill a 32-gallon CLEAN garbage can. I reckon that might take care of the whole island!

I want a Bloody Mary, just like the two I had at Ruth's Chris on Saturday night, when Lucimoore and her handsome hubby came to town for the Titans game and took us out for dinner.

Shout out to Cindy and Don for the most delightful five hours ever spent at a dining table, John and I had a WONDERFUL time, my face was sore from laughing. We hope to see you again soon!

Pat, Lately it has been Rolling Rock, long neck, not too cold. If I feel real mellow I use a pilsener glass, and if my wife is counting empties I will slip every other one back in the case. Rolling Rock was the beer I drank in my late teens because, for some reason, it had cult status with my age group. We didn't realize we were actually drinking one of the best "made in the USA" beers.

M48ortal, that was darned cute!

My apron's on and I'm ready to start my shift. For those of you who ordered earlier, I hope someone has taken care of your orders.

What I'd like to know is who the heck left all those dirty dishes in the sink??? If I wanted to do a sinkful of dishes I would stay home and do my own!

OK, who's next?

of course you can throw the peanut shells on the floor - it adds character to the place. Plus it's fun to watch the little squirrels race around the patio picking up all the shells looking for the peanuts.

Kimoira, Guinness Extra on tap just for you.

Sun, where ya been?

We've had a great time here while Sploofus was spinning its wheels. I've learned a little bit about drinks (sort of ironic and hilarious isnt it with a non-drinker tending bar!?).

If you don't mind sharing, Donden has all the snacks in front of him.

It's so good to be here. I couldn't find the place for the longest time - some sort of weird storm kept blowing me off track.

So anyway, I'm going to bed soon, so how about some nice hot cocoa before I go? Maybe just a drop of vanilla vodka.

Just dropped in to see what condition the air conditioner is in. The wife sent fried green tomatoes and peanut butter fudge, and I popped a huge bowl of popcorn with butter-salt. Just don't try to eat all three things at the same time.

I'll have a small white wine.

Hey, those calories have to be much better tasting than yucky Ensure! LOL I will make both. Diet cookies and regular cookies. Personally, I don't like cookies but am told I make the best. I make the old recipe that Nestley Toll House had years ago.

I like cookies. I could leave pie or cake or candy alone, but if I have cookies in the house, they get eaten. So I buy graham crackers instead.
