I finally had to mop since Sploofus is being less than cooperative. I have had this applicance for awhile and originally purchased it because Lodi said that she loved hers. First of all, let me say that "cleaning" is not one of my higher priorities. I'm not sure what I expected from this...I guess I was hoping that I could turn it on and go into another room and come back and my floors would be sparkling. That is NOT exactly the case. I will say for someone that hates to clean house that this is actually a godsend. You fill it like the directions tell you to and it really does a superb job. I am more than pleased. It comes with two different types of brushes. It also vacuums and sucks up spilled messes. I have no carpeting. This works on all my floors. It washes them and puts the nasty water into another container and you just toss it out. I see no drawbacks to it so far and have really been pleased with it. Works mostly just like a vacuum does, you direct it and it cleans your floors. I got mine on Amazon. I tried going to several different stores and they either didn't have what I wanted or like at Sears...they had one left but the clerk told me that it was "broken" and she suggested that I not buy it. Well, duh! Check this out: I really do think that everyone would like it.

I LOVED mine, until it broke. I'm going to have to buy a new one. Lots of flooring has little divots and crevasses and I was finding that with a mop, dirt would get down in those spots and I would have to scrub with a brush and I hate that. With these scrubbing brushes, it gets down into all those little spots and scrubs out the dirt and then sucks it up into the receptacle. I also like that feature. With a mop, you seem to just be pushing dirty water around. This actually takes it off the floor and its almost dry when you're done.

Geez, I sound like Billy Mays.

I have carpet in 3 rooms and with all my critters - plus occasional foster critters - it's really a stupid choice (it was here when I moved in 15 years ago). I'm thinking of removing the carpet and putting down tile or something in the kitchen and then either refinishing the wood floors under the carpet or some other option. I've seen these advertised and wondered how well they worked, because I'd have to probably get something like that.

Glad to have the endorsement on them. Gives me hope that something will work other than a mop.

don't imagine it will do any good to sit around and wait for the robot that will do it for me. (sigh)

Nil Desperandum PAT....

Who would have thought a few years ago we would have

a) Robotic vacuum cleaners, that spin around and clean without our "pushing energy"

b) Little machines on which we could get a fast answer to the WP questions,
without having to resort to Google, wait for the PC screen to change etc.

Thanks for the recommendation LODI....
Who did you say you work for???? HaHaHaHa

I love mine too! I like how dry it gets the floors... between my mothers wheel chair and the dogs, trying to get the floors dry before they were violated was a constant battle.
Another thing I LOVED was the roomba vacuum... I've had several and when I had my house with cats, it was a God send, amazing the stuff it picked up...

Thank you Marsha! I've been waiting weeks for this update!!! I just hate the thing I bought - full of promises and fulfilling none. Not one.

Question - has anyone tried the iRobot Scooba (the little round robot that mops the way the Roomba vacuums)?
