Does anyone have news of Chyenn?

She was supposed to get a D and C because insurance wouldn't cover hysterectomy. I will look back on threads now that site is on again.

She was scheduled for surgery on Monday. Vickie was going to find out how she was doing.

I've just been concerned since there's been no word at all. And she hasn't posted on any of the threads or been on Facebook either.

I've tried calling the nursing home a few times to find out about her but the phone in her room just keeps ringing and no one answers...I've emailed her a few times too but so far I haven't heard anything. I'm gonna try again today...If I don't hear anything I'll ask her aunt (who is the ROTC instructor at the high school) if she knows anything...

Please do, Vicki. It's just not like Chyenn to be out of touch like this.

Chyenn is finally out of the hospital after a week. i'm sorry i have had no way to update you all until now.

i have been one sick puppy. i went to the hospital as scheduled last Monday for the D&C and as they were prep-ing me for the procedure i spiked a fever of 103.6.. procedure was immediately cancelled and i was admitted to the hospital with IV antibiotics. subsequent lab work found a staff infection. the D&C became an ablation. that was done thursday morning and went 'textbook perfect' according to the GYN. she turned me over to the hospitalist for continued treatment of the infection and pain management.

they did an MRI on my neck and found several spurs and a herniated disc.

i have to meet with my regular Dr and see where we go from here..

right now i'm exhausted. i'm looking forward to a little peace and quiet and hopefully a goodnight's sleep.

i thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers.

We knew you had to be so sick you couldn't get in touch but you really had us all worried - and it looks like we had reason to be worried.

You take care now and get some well-deserved rest.

thanks everyone!

Physical Therapy may resume today but i'm still weak and have more pain than before so i'm not sure what i'll be able to accomplish. they got the results of my MRI yesterday. the dr is supposed to see them today and will decide if he will approve the pain meds they gave me in the hospital. i hope he will because what he has me on now just doesn't cut it. i've got to have better pain management or i won't be able to do my best in PT.

apparently Medicare will only pay for dr visits once every 6 weeks while i'm in the nursing home, yet he is here reviewing charts daily. i met him 3 days after i was admitted and he reviewed my history, told me he was ordering lab work and i haven't seen him since. any questions i have must be relayed to him via a note by a charge nurse. i can't begin to tell you how frustrated i am with this policy.

Or how inefficient such a policy is. rules, rules, rules. Seems like the world is filled with rules, isn't it? Some are necessary and vital. Others have me scratching my head and wondering what on earth this world's coming to!

I hope you get some pain relief soon. You're correct - if you are in pain you can't heal as quickly from your surgery and certainly can't achieve as much in PT.

Just hang in there. You've come a long way, Baby, and you have the gumption to do the rest.
