Maybe this was already noticed (and discussed) by others on the Salty Dog, but I just realized the Sploofactor score no longer appears in the player information section. That was probably a good thing since few understood it, the leaderboard had long ago disappered, and apparently the scoring was fouled up for many of the "old-timers."

That said, I'm feeling a little sentimental about it. The Sploofactor was a major reason that I got hooked on Sploofus. While other trivia sites gave points for correct answers, the Sploofactor took into account how quickly questions were answered. Folks who dallied while taking their quizes (or Googled, heaven forbid) received fewer Sploofactor points. The old Sploofleader board showed not only this composite score, but also the percentage of questions correctly answered and the average time it took to answer a question. During my first few months on Sploofus, it was a fun way to track how I was doing on all of this.

But, alas, it's gone. Maybe someday, a long time in the future, an improved version could be considered.

One last note, though, as we say goodbye to the Sploofactor. Kudos go to Rshackleford (Mike) who was the all-time Sploofactor leader. While others take quizes and do well, Mike takes quizes, does well, and does it in incredibly quick times. The Sploofactor was a nice way to demonstrate Mike's trivia process, but now his little claim to fame has been put to rest forever.

So please remind me.

When a quiz has the phrase "sploofactor proof" in the title, does that mean the quiz is easier - or more difficult?

My sploofactor has come and gone on an almost daily basis since I rejoined. It may be back.

"Sploofactor proof" I think means you're supposed to be able to take the quiz quickly. Allena could probably chime in on this.

Ask, Jim, (Allena) he uses that on his quizzes. Don't understand it but love his quizzes

I am also very saddened by the removal of the Sploofactor. Much like my friend Daveguth, I used to track that stat very closely and was elated when I made my way to the top of it's leaderboard. For me at least, quiz taking has always been about combining speed and knowledge. Way too often I have gone too fast and made mistakes because of it but I will never change my style because speed is the most fun part for me. It's too bad this aspect of quiz taking won't be recognized anymore- hopefully it will return one day

Sploofactor is gone? I'd noticed it missing but... its NOT going to return?
If true, that would be sad. If, Sploofactor is due to return... are Sploofactor
points still being calculated on quizzes being taken during its absence?

When will "This Week's Most Popular Quizzes" list return?

Figures it's gone now. It took me over a year to find out what it was and I started paying more attention to my speed and accuracy. It made taking quizzes more challenging and fun. Oh well.......
