ST LOUIS BASEBALL WP

Fair or not?

I'm not sure it comes in the general ambit of information that everyone might have a chance to know. I enjoyed the puzzle -- I'm a baseball fan -- but did not know one of the players. Non US people will surely be scratching their heads. And it IS more than a little specialized subject, not to say downright odd.

I'm not complaining because I did badly; I just think it might be a direction the solvers might not want the WPs to go.
Example; puzzle on cricket -- fine. Puzzle on Worcestershire batsmen -- not cool.

Oh dear. My heart sank when i saw the title, and it was all down hill from there. It seemed to be written in some kind of code. Words that i knew well, but in an an alien order. I'm sure it was great fun for those that have an interest in rounders, i hate it with a passion. I accept totally that the fault is all mine, certainly no blame can be attached to the compliler. The strange thing is this. I couldn't be bothered to Google anything, yet i escaped with a "reasonable" score, only one lost letter.

I liked it because I am a baseball fan. It definitely helps when doing a sports theme puzzle.
The bad news?- the Cardinals #)_@#^^&&******** in the post season.
Nice puzzle Lowiq

Barry, you did pretty well for someone who thought it might not be fair!

Actually, I tend to agree. While it's a good test for baseball fans, it must be torture for others (whether from outside the U.S. or even inside). Information this specific fits better in the quizes and kerblunks, not in the WPs where so many participate each day.

However, if Lowiq decides to put one of these together for each of the remaining MLB teams, I'll certainly enjoy it!

I can't wait to see your scores on speedway, cricket and rugby union Coolio. How about Formula One, Moto GP's and snooker ?

What I know about baseball you could fit in the corner of a postage stamp, so was surprised to finish with only one deduction

Please ignore my remarks above.

I thought this was a WP about St Louis baseball (which might even include the Browns), but if it's specifically about this year's team (which lost in the first round of the playoffs), then even I think that is a bit too narrow a subject.

But I'd still welcome a WP about cricket, Dave. Well, at least if it came with enough NoDoz.

Cricket could easy or tough. One of the best Polish speedway riders is called Janusz KoƂodziej, that might not be so easy. Emosi Kauhenga, Otenili Langilangi, Tevita Tu'uhoko, Finau Maka and Viliami Vaki are the better Tongan flankers. See what i mean ?

So you probably don't realize the irony of that post with regard to a St. Louis Cardinal puzzle coming from an account with the handle "Dizzy".

Hubbie is a huge ball fan; I watch only. But both of us enjoyed this one. This is only the 2nd WP done alone by LowIQ and I think is doing a great job.

I didn't follow baseball much this year, so I enjoyed learning tidbits about the Cardinals. Too bad they didn't advance in the playoffs, Lowiq, but I had fun playing your word puzzle! Thanks!

I enjoyed it a lot. Knew a bit about the Cardinals, but learned lots more.

Thought it was well written and despite its very specific nature was certainly fun to work through.
