Laurie has now found out she has Stage 2 Non-Hodgkin's B-cell Lymphoma. She will be hospitalized for a few months with a bone marrow transplant and massive chemotherapy. She sure could use some kind words and lots of prayers.

Thank you for letting us know. I'm sure she knows she has all our best wishes -- but just in case: crossed fingers Laurie!

I have 3 hours a day to drive and pray - Laurie, you're on my list!

Thank you for all the enjoyable and beautiful emails over the past few days. They've really lifted MY spirits. It's amazing that even in the face of life's greatest challenges, you take time to life ME up. You're an amazing lady and I'm so glad I'm getting to know you.

Will they allow you to have your laptop even during the bone marrow procedure?

May God be with you, Laurie, through every step of the way of what you are going through. I wish you the very best and hope you are as good as new real soon. You have amazed me with your positive attitude and strength, and I know it must be very hard for you. I know I would be terrified.

Dear Laurie....I will get on my knees tonight and pray doubly hard for you and each and every day coming up. I will never forget your positive attitude, reaching out to others in your time of need. You are really something else. Amazing as a matter of fact. Remember.....the Lord is in the miracle working business and he is the greatest physician of all......I love you Dipsy.

I don't know that I have ever met Laurie on this site, but everything I have read has been so positive that I am sure we will be good friends when she returns. My prayers are with you, Laurie, and your friends and family as you face this tough milestone in your life. May your optimism pull you through as quickly as possible.

I chat with her on-line. She takes quizzes and send notes of appreciation. She has little to do and sploofus is a godsend. Anyone writing her gets an answer.

I am in such awe to see all of you very kind people praying, thinking of me, and all the wonderful things that you all have said. I will admit that this time around I"m a little scared, but I also know that I am in good hands with so many kind people like all you, and many others lifting my spirits. I want you all to know the first bit of good news to everything I will be going through. Last week, I had a bone marrow biopsy to see if my own marrow would be able to be used, as I have a rare bloodtype and no matches in my family. I will be able to "donate" my own marrow for them to"perge"m meaning that it will be like a filtering system to remove bad cells. This, from what I was told will take a few hours and will be extremely painful. I have this being done on Monday, October 26th. I am going to be asking my oncologists and the transplant team if it will be possible to wait until after Christmas to do the rest. (The bone marrow is frozen until transplantation).
I was told last year that it would be my last Christmas. Well, I'm still here and pretty fisty at that! LOL When I do go in the hospital, I will be there for a few months with very limited company.
I want to spend Christmas this year with my family and grand children. I was given a week to decide weather or not to go through with all of this and decided to do it, so all in all, when I do go in the hospital, I will be looking forward to seeing all of you on here to make me laugh and smile, just like you do already.
Alenna is right. I have very little I can do and sploofus has been a Godsend to me.
What in the world would I do without all of you? I want you to know that it means more than words can describe, the honor I feel in knowing such wonderful people like you all. I can't thank you enough for being here with me. You are in my heart, so It doesn't matter where you live or how far because there is nothing better than having you in my heart.
I know quite a few others that are going through difficulties, other than myself. Lets all pray for them too.

Thanks ever so much for letting us hear from you. This is one of the most amazing sites that I have had a privilege to belong too. We have always pulled together and helped one another through some rough times. I think that is why I get so very upset some times because of those few that are being hateful and catty to each other. We need to be thankful for what we have and try to help each other in difficult times. You have such an incredible fortitude and I admire you greatly. Please know that we are here for you and that if there is anything that you need that we can do for you, please don't hesitate to let us know. Take care and please keep in touch. You have lots of people praying and sending good thoughts your way.

Thinking of you Laurie... keep your positive mindset, this is another hurdle along the way, but hopefully there will be a good outcome.

Dear Laurie....
I will be praying and thinking about you,
especially on October 26th.
Hope you won't be in too much pain (and
remember when I was on morphine for
many days - happy, sleepy days.)
Doctors have so many ways to save us from
major discomfort thses days.
Good Luck and God Bless.

Laurie stay strong and know that many people continue to lift you up in our thoughts and prayers. I'm also believing your doctors will have the wisdom to do what is exactly right for you and that your pain will be minimal. You've beaten the odds, and in my book that is something very special.
