Thinking of you Laurie. May your stay be short, your doctor be hot, and the back of your hospital gown stay closed.

Laurie i'm praying for success of the procedure today, for you to be as comfortable as possible and for your strength to endure the treatments and overcome this horrid illness.

here's a laugh for you:

A little three year old boy was sitting on the toilet. His mother thinks he has been in there too long, so she goes in to check on him.

The little boy is sitting there reading a book. About every 10 seconds or so, he puts the book down, grips onto the toilet seat with his left hand and hits himself on top of the head with his right hand.

His mother says: "Billy, are you alright? You've been in here for a while."

Billy says: "I'm fine Mommy.. I just haven't gone "doody" yet."

Mother says: "OK, you can stay here a few more minutes. But, Billy, why are you hitting yourself on the head?"

Billy says: "It works for ketchup."

How many transplant jokes are there?

So, this guy accidently burns off his eyebrows while lighting his barbecue grill one day. He's embarrassed at his appearance so he goes to his friendly plastic surgeon, who offers to transplant some hair to the eyebrow area and improve the overall effect. The patient has a little schnauzer he dotes upon, and sentimentally asks if the doggy can be the donor, and the doc reluctantly agrees. Carefully harvesting some of the shorter hairs from the doggy's hind leg, he transplants them to the patient's forehead.

A few weeks later, the patient returns to the doctor for followup. He looks very good, and the doctor asks if there have been any problems. "No, not really. But every time I pass a fire hydrant, I get a surprised look on my face!"

This is why it's best to use your own marrow for your procedure, Laurie. I'm sure you'll be fine after a bit of procedural nonsense, so hang in there. Lots of people thinking of you.

Hang in there Laurie! You are an amazing woman to endure the number of traumas, as you have, over the last few weeks and still remain in good spirits. Best wishes Laurie as you battle this newest diagnosis. Deedee

Thank you all so much for the support in your prayers, well wishes and funny jokes. Marsha really must know how much better I fel when I laugh. This is the first time I have laughed all day. Thank you, I need these good laughs right now. Ron's made things seem much better as I didn't know about all that was involved in an Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant until I finally read the literature last night that my oncologist gave me over a week ago, along with many releases to sign. I almost wasn't going to go through any of it but with all of the support I am getting from so many people, I can do it. Not happily, but oh well, sh** happens. LOL
I have to do this again in 4 weeks, during which time I have to have a series ofinjections of whatever it is called(LOL) to increase the number of blood forming cells. I will be having blood drawn from one arm, then the blood goes though a machine to separate the blood forning cells, then the remaining blood goes back in my other arm. Sounds kinda like a some form of farming or milking cows to me! LOL
After all this "stuff" is done with, then I will be going into RPCI to have the chemo and transplant. Seems like a lot of hassel just to feel like crap. But I know in the long run that this will give me many years of joy and happiness. So people, be warned... Laurie will be on sploofus for many years to come. Might wanna think twice before renewing! LOL
I love you all for just making me smile. xoxo
P.s. I may have lots of typos as I am still a bit LOOPED!

Laurie: great to hear from you already- you are so strong!
And we're all just so happy to be warned that you'll be around for a long time. Gives us time for the news to sink in.

Stay positive and above all- HANG ON LOOPY

Thanks I know how they gained access to my hip and butt. Those darn hospital gowns. Vickie, what if Karen is right? What happens when the cast comes off and I have a boob on my knee? Will they let us in the dance club? Thanks for the tip, Chyenn. Now I can throw out the exlax! Ron, I got to thinking..Good thing I'm donating my own marrow. I'd hate to wonder who's butt I got it from!
Al, I'm not LOOPY anymore. The 20 cups of coffee took care of that!!! ROFL

I really want to thank all of you on here. You all amaze me on how fast you make me feel so much happier. I am so blessed to have you all in my life, as I can actually answer "Yes" to the question "Are we having fun yet?". It's no secret that none of this is a picnic, but when I get on my computer or laptop, it's almost like none of this is quite so bad.
I thank you all for giving me the extra strength I need right now. You are all of God's angels sent to me.
Bless each and every one of you.

Laurie, you have been in my thoughts and prayers all weekend, and will continue to be throughout your time in the hospital. Your positivity throughout all of this is truly inspiring. Lots of hugs and hope you return to us soon in good health.

I know you will. You are wiser now...and hole-ier. Still praying here every chance I get, in between praying for my students to hit a few right notes for our fall concert tomorrow night.

See - it could be worse. You could be going through all this AND having to listen to cat screeching wrong notes.

SOMEBODY chose music too hard for the high school orchestras for this concert. Think I'll pass out earplugs at the door to the auditorium.

All except for the 6th grade beginners - THEY will be the highlight of the concert. They're darling and really competitive to do the best.

My high schoolers will be...hopefully scared enough to practice a lot tonight and get it together by the concert.

(Now THAT would take a miracle!)

I would dedicate the concert to you - but I like you too much to do that to you!

Hello Laurie, Hope you're asleep right now and are feeling better tomorrow morning and the nausea is gone. Hey, Technicolor is much more exciting than plain old skin. Keep the icepacks handy!
