My cat was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism a year ago The current medication may be responsible for causing blood to be in her urine. As a result, the vet is advising me to have my cat undergo iodine radiation. Is anyone acquainted with that? I'm hesitant as she is 15 and it would require her to be in isolation for one month.

Update. After all the tests and preparation for my cat to undergo the iodine radiation, she became quite sick. I had to have her put to sleep. I believe the real issue was with her kidneys. Always insist on an analysis of recent bloodwork. My vets were looking at tests that were six months old. My cat could have been spared a great deal. She was a sweetheart. To say that I miss her is an understatement.
