Edirors: how many more quizzes on state capitals are you going to accept? It seems there are more than enough at this point.

Oddly enough this is something the editors discuss on a regular basis. So far we have decided that it is not fair to reject a quiz because there are already many quizzes like it. As long as it is not plagiarized, or EXACTLY like a previous quiz (it would have to have all of the same distractors, and all the same questions) we have to launch it.

It is the discretion of the quiz takers to choose which ones they take. Some people might like to take several quizzes on the same topic - by the fifth or sixth (or 20th) they could ace the topic and make some easy points!

Who would decide how many is too many? And as soon as we make a decree that we will not accept any more State Capitals quizzes, someone will write one that is completely different and interesting and deserves an Editors Award and we will have to reject it!

When we see a quiz like this:
Q: Washington
A: Seattle

we often recommend that the author do something to jazz it up like add facts or at least make the question an entire sentence. But the choice of how to present a quiz is ultimately the decision of the author. As a quiz taker you are free to send the author feedback and suggest that they try writing more interesting questions and more original quizzes!

Or post a message here and maybe people will take the hint!

Do I smell a run of Canadian provincial capital quizzes in the near future?
