I am sorry if this sound like complaing, but this is my question.
I would probably never get any of the fragments in "Guess the music" question because I just do not know this. The photographs on the other hand I have recognized correctly most of the time. The problem is that by the time I have given an answer, there is always someone who already guessed it before me. And I usually can only get to the computer at the end of my working day.
So does this mean that I will never get a chance ? Should everyone who guessed it right get some points at least?
Thank you.

One thing I should cite on this matter is if the interval between new challenges is randomly between 22 and 26 hours, unless that distribution is non-uniform, they'll tend iover the long run to stay around the same time of day, which I guess is around 20:00 GMT. To get the random walk away from its home base in the long run, the distribution of intervals needs to be skewed.

Or maybe that's just the beer talking.

I think they should be done like the WP - 2 a day.

Look at Sploofus's thread "Name the Song / Who The Heck Am I - Rotation Schedule" under Hotwire. He's already programmed 365 WTHAIs and says they "could appear at any time, day or night!"

That's true, since he has probably done it serially, i.e. "X(n+1) = X + 24 +/- 2", and did not set a fixed time "X-o'clock" and randomly add or subtract something between 2 hours.

I did 100 experiments and found only about 10% of the 365 stayed within 2 hours of the original post time of the first WTHAI. It might take some days, but the time will "walk" over the clock!

Wow, Ash, that was a mouthful (or alot for the digits). I suggest getting a cellphone that has internet access so you can keep tabs on it at all times....JUST KIDDING!
Today (Saturday) it changed at around 11:30 am EDT so maybe there is a shift in the post up. With players all over the world, I can't imagine Justin would write a code that keep it around the late afternoon/early evening (Again EDT) for everyone.
Hold out! You have a year to get one!

I think 2 a day sounds good if it wasn't too much trouble. Since they're already programmed, it may be.

I have just got it right again! But I think there were 16 more people before me.
Common! It is not my falt that someone can get to the computer faster or at the right time.

It reminds me of an INS office in Chicago where people line up at 5 a.m just to be among couple hundred lucky once that can be seen that day.

Here it only takes one person!!!

Maybe what should happen, is the person who gets it right should not answer another one until the end of a one month period, giving a better chance to every one else.

Does the person who won the previous contest not have the same right to compete in the next one? Maybe we could stop awarding points too, that way others will not feel insecure about their lack of points. Good thing Lance Armstrong retired, it would be a shame to see him win again....
