I started a thread this morning asking when and how Sploofusers found their way to Sploofus. I'm enjoying reading through the responses, which have been varied as one would expect! The title of this thread is a quote from a response by Uclonewolfe3/Marilyn. I felt her words spoke volumns as to the commardary that remains ever present, through thick and thin, within the Sploofus ranks. Marilyn also wrote - "I hope Justin is okay, and that he will check back in. The site just seems more positive and interesting when the leader is involved and being upbeat. It's kind of like a ship without the Captain here on Sploofus Island." I've not started this thread for any reason other than curiousity, but I'm wondering why Justin's active involvement makes a difference? Other than the ongoing upgrade and site issues (this may be due to my level of involvement in the chat rooms and the commanderie, but I don't recall seeing Justin actively involved in my tenure. But then, I wouldn't have known what to look for! The editor's have staid fast by Justin's side and this speaks volumns as well. Sploofus is still Sploofus to me and I like it, otherwise I wouldn't be here! And so I join in with a resounding, "Here's to Sploofus Island!!!"

I agree Bobo, and thank God that most of the
"crazies" have moved to TT .... instead of
clogging up the SD and making many of us
stop visiting with each other

Amen; someone (not me) will have to do a statistical sample of the comments there.
What percentage of them are actually just vulgar abuse? Maybe 50%?
Does anyoe remember some SNL exchanges involving Jane Curtin (Jane you ignorant slut) -- maybe we need to see more of that sort of repartee?

Deedee, I guess Justin's involvement meant that the site was going forward in a positive direction, and I know he has another life, but I joined in March of 2006, and at that time, if I remember right, Justin popped in quite often. He did come up with the "Name That Tune" game on his own, and I think it makes the site more interesting when he is involved with new ideas. I guess if you were used to things being a certain way, you just miss it, and wish they were that way again.

I hear you Barry, you don't know how many times I wanted to say that. So and so you ignorant slut. Don't think it is compatible with terms of usage!
