Okay. This is stupid. I got a call on my cell and the caller-id showed "1-111-111-111" as the caller. Ten one's, not eleven. Too spooky for me to answer.

Does anyone know what this is?

Usually what that means is you have some sort of call rejection feature on your phone and the person calling you in inputing all ones to get through the recording. 6 years at the phone company has taught me this one.

Isn't this site great! You can always find someone who can answer your questions, no matter what the subject is.

I've never gotten the 111-111-111 thing, but, I have received on my caller ID 000-000-0000 and it says unknown caller. Is this the same? It is kind of a freaky thing. Like maybe the Operator really needs to talk to me or something? just kidding roxi

It is in a way the same thing, the person calling you has a blocked number or a phone line that your phone company doesn't recognize (in the case of an international caller). Most likely though it is someone cheating the system and not inputting their actual phone number when it is asked.
