UPDATE

For those of you who posted messages, my husband finally has a diagnosis. He has Diffuse Large B cell lymphoma which has transformed from Follicular lymphoma. He started his Chemo today and it seems he will have fairly heavy doses for three months every 2 weeks. After this he will have his stem cells harvested followed by intense chemo where he will be hospitalised for two weeks at a time. After six months all will be reviewed, but treatment could be ongoing for up to 2 years.
At this stage he is positive.. but knows it will get pretty hard.
At least we know what it is and can start to do something about it.
Judy

Judy - I'm so sorry you guys are going through this. I'm so glad, though, that they've developed this advanced procedure - it sounds like there is real hope for a reversal. Prayers here for you guys. And Judy, please do some special things for yourself - you are such a strength to your husband, and you deserve some special support, too!

Wishing you both all possible strength and prayers for a quick recovery. I have a patient with exactly the same problem. We diagnosed her 6 years ago and she went through the chemo and stem cell transplant. She did have a fairly rough 6 months, but she is as healthy and spunky as ever. She is an older lady who insists on checking out guys' butts every time she comes to the office (and has flirted with more than one of our male interns) She used to use the chemo as an excuse - but she was like that well before her lymphoma so I don't think you'll have to worry about your husband developing that particular side effect!

You have a lot ahead of you. I am praying for you two. The treatments are successful. I hope you keep up a good attitude even though you are hurting inside. It will be tough but another hurdle to feel good about when you two are back on an even keel.

Oh Judy, this is so not what you were wanting to hear...my heart goes out to you and your husband. I hope you realize how many of your fellow Sploofusers are here for you. We will remain as such as you both move forward during the course of treatment and onto the victory of a full recovery. Thinking of you and yours, Deedee

Judy,
This news saddens me very much. I am so deeply sorry that you and your husband has to go through all this.
I'm in the process of havesting my cells and bone marrow for an Autologous Bone Marrow Transplant.
This is an extremely long process for anyone to go through. My prayers are with both your husband and you.
Please feel free to email me if you need someone to talk to that fully understands all the medical processes and stages of this
condition. F5laur@aol.com
With many prayers,
Laurie
