They started the day in - day out Christmas music today, non-stop jingle bells until New Years. I love Christmas time as much as the next person but it's not even Thanksgiving yet.

Yes, at work. The radio station we are set to went Christmas today, seems a little early to me. I wish they would at least mix it with regular songs.

We have lots of houses with Christmas lights on, but the weather has been nice, so I guess people are getting a jump on it.

The stores here started putting Christmas stuff out before Halloween!
Talk about being sick of Christmas already!

Welcome to the world in which a musician lives. We start working on our winter concert in October, as soon as we complete our fall concert. We're all about Christmas/winter music'ed out long before Christmas Day.

There has been one radio station in Central Pennsylvania that has played 100% Christmas/Holiday music since the BEGINNING of November.
There was barely any time from listening to Bobby Boris Pickett often to moving along to:

Bing Crosby!.

me, too, Tama!

I used to work with a lady who collected music boxes, many that played Christmas carols. She would bring in a music box around Thanksgiving, wind it up and type like crazy. When the music box ran down, she'd grab it, crank it up again and go back to typing, barely missing a beat! The next day she'd bring in another music box and repeat the process.

Believe it or not, you can get to the point where you don't hear it after a while.

I also enjoy Christmas music, but do wish it would begin the day after Thanksgiving; the official first day of Christmas shopping. I can only listen to "Jingle Bell Rock" so many times.

Yes, but... can you ever hear enough of "Grandma Got Run Over by A Reindeer?"

I love Christmas music too but it seems that some people start playing it right after Halloween! At least wait until after Thanksgiving!

Oh, it's Christmas Season for me, when I hear the Carpenters Merry Christmas Darling, I don't know why. And Silver Bells, by Johnny Mathis

Maybe they feel the country "needs a little Christmas, right this very minute."

I have to admit I really am ready for the magical season this year.

(And I'm thrilled that this year, compared to last year's MS group, is able to conquer "Jingle Bell Rock"! I've never seen a group of students so proud. They themselves can measure how much they've improved from last year's debacle. The sparkle in their faces when they play it keeps me from getting tired of hearing it!)

Of all the posts i've had censored, and there have been a few, the one i had deleted from this thread is the most scandalous. It is out and out religious discrimination, so i really shouldn't be surprised.

Love everything Mannheim Steamroller, and the first song of their's marks the seasons start! Yes, even their version of Drummer Boy, almost. Oh, and do I lose all credibility by admitting to a liking for Alvin and the Chipmunk's Christmas Don't be Late???

Yes! Credibility shot!

I do love listening to the Transiberian Orchestra at christmas time. I went to their concert two years ago and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Highly recommend to music lovers.

Tomorrow starts the holiday season for me, at 5pm I will officially recognize the christmas season.

My students LOVE Transiberian Orchestra concerts.

There are very few Christmas and winter songs that I don't love every year - I look forward to them and Christmas just wouldn't feel the same without them.
