I have lost my dog Baby and I can't quit crying yall I never realized how much he meant to me til now. He is a registered dog and is called a Chorkie (part Chihuahua and part Yorkie).I bought him when he was a baby and I have had him for 8 years. He is the best dog I have ever owned and now hes gone and I feel like I'm dying inside. I'm devastated and need some comfort from my friends right now. Please.
Thanx, Michelle aka Mitchy

P.S. I will add a photo of him to my profile after I finish this post.

Sorry Mitchy. I know how sad you are. We just had to put down our old friend, Clyde. He was a 12.5 yr old, 180 lb pyrenese/lab cross. He raised my youngest two children and was the most gentle giant on earth.

Its taken me several days to even tell anyone about Clyde because of how choked up I get. But its getting better.

I hope you feel better soon.

Dear, dear Michelle. I know you are hurting...our pets are such an important part of our lives. Please know, any and all loving pet owners understand your grief. I was given this "poem" while in the first stages of grieving...cried my eyes out, but ultimately became a source of comfort. I hope, though it will make you cry, this will be of some comfort as you grieve for "Baby".

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When a pet dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing;
they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass,
his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head,
and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

With compassion for you Michele... Deedee

Oh Mitchy, I'm so sorry about your Baby. Tell us about it. When was the last time you saw Baby? Did he slip out of a pen or off his leash?

we'll just encourage you that many times they do return. Have you called the police to watch for him. That's what I always do the minute I find a dog or have a dog get loose. Then if someone finds them, they usually call the police and I get my pets home.

Just tell us about it and maybe it will help you.

Mitchy: I'm saddened to read that Baby is missing. I've looked at his photo in your profile, Very lovable.
I'll keep hoping that he returns to you real soon. I know you're devastated.

Lodi: my condolences on the passing of Clyde. When we lose a beloved pet, it creates a large void in our lives.

Mitchy, call the pound often times I found my siberian husky that got away that way. If someone picked up baby they might have taken him to the pound people often do. Put notices up in store windows near your house and go door to door in your neighborhood someone may have seen him. Good luck I know how you feel girlfriend I have had the sad luck to have had a pet that ran away.

I am so very sorry. I can only imagine how you feel. I hope he finds his way back home to you. Try putting up signs with a picture and offer a reward. Hopefully, someone will find him and return him to you. I will send positive thoughts your way.

Mitchy, I hope you find Baby soon. I know the hole in your heart that's left when a pet isn't around.

Lodi, it's such dreadful pain isn't it? I'm sorry for your loss. It's easy to say he's there in your memories but so hard not to see your beloved pal every day.

Just saw your photos of Baby. What an adorable dog! I hope he comes back soon. One time I had a cocker spaniel that was missing and I thought I'd never see him again. It was gut-wrenching. The first day I checked with the pound, and he wasn't there. After searching and posting missing dog flyers, I decided to call the pound again. They weren't too helpful, but said I could come in a look. As it turned out, the dog was there in quarantine because he had bitten a teenager who had tried to pick him up about 3 miles from the house. After about a week at the pound in quarantine, he was able to come home.

I'm pulling for you, and hope you have a happy outcome, Mitchy.

I'm so very, very sorry, Mitchy, about Baby's disappearance. (I still cry over Winston's disappearance without a trace this past August 24.)

I learned from Pat's thread that you can look every day online at pictures of animals that have been found and are at shelters in your area. I hope Baby shows up and you have a joyful reunion soon! Please keep us updated. We love you!

I was out hanging my lost dog posters on every corner that I come to. I was about 4 blocks from my house there was this paper on the pole i was fixing to hang my last poster on. It said, "FOUND SMALL DOG". and a Phone #. I thought to myself naaah.. that paper looks like its been there for a minute kinda faded, wrinkled and ugly. So I hung my poster above it and started back home. The closer I got to the house and the further away I got from that paper I couldn't seem to shake this feeling that If I didn't call that number It would forever haunt me.......So I ran back took that paper and called the number. I asked the man if he had found a puppy & did he still have it. The info we had exchanged had me bawling before he could finish. This all took place at 10:00am today. The man was not home at this time and wouldn't be there until noon. OWwwch!!!! So when I started to post about having news. I got the call to come and see if the puppy was mine...
2 min 2 sec I was there and so was "MY BABY". I tried to give the man 50.00 dollars but he refused to take it and wouldn't. He said he got a thousand times fifty just by seeing the look on my face when I got out of the car and saw "MY BABY" and how happy we were to be reunited..I'm crying my eyes out again but this time it's joy not sorrow.

I have something to say to:
Lodi-Deedee-Sandy-Pat-Al-Stephanie-Marsha-Maureen-Pepperdoc-Marilyn-Janice-Tama-Cathy-Sis-Craig-Vicki-Clem-Randy-Steve-Jeannette-Andy-Maria & Amy,
I will never forget what yall have done for me!!! Thank you so very very much for taking the time to let me know that I was not alone & hurting all by myself. I can't express how much that really means to me and you will never know. I wished I could climb into my liquid monitor and give all of you a HUG & kiss. I will forever Luv ya....
(and if i ever win the lotto get ready)

Wow. I saw the title of the thread and thought you were announcing to 60,000 + Sploofus members that you had had a miscarriage and I was appalled at the idea. I'm so glad it was something else and that you found your dog again. I had a cat go missing for five days before idound him locked up in an empty house, so I know the anxiety and fear that one lives with until your pet is back home safe.

Is he micro-chipped as well, Mitchy? I'm assuming that the USA is the same as the UK and that if an animal is found and taken to a vet, pound or rescue organisation they will check first to see if it's micro-chipped and then you could be contacted straight away.

Just a thought!
