Good-looking couple too - the lady's dress was a real wow.

Yeah, it's a real laugh riot that the security around the president is non-existent. Oh my sides.

Guess you'd have wet yourself if they'd been dangerous.

Chatboard czar ain't gonna like you posting this in the wrong forum.

He has plenty of security, Donna, and this is not a political thread.

I just found the whole thing very funny, like the guy who landed his plane at the White during the Clinton years.

That was at the time that the new Denver airport was not opening because of bugs in the luggage handling system as I recall.

And the joke was

"What's the difference between the Denver airport and the White House?"

"You can land a plane at the White House."

I remember O.J. Simpson visiting the White House. Just thought I would mention that.

Ah, it's a good filler story on a slow news weekend.

Hey, they even met the President. Good for them.

Of course, the security people are all pulling their hair out trying to explain how it happened and how it will never happen again.

Can they not be prosecuted for trespassing or something?

Now why would you automatically think of prosecuting them. Sheesh

If they get a reality show, I'm all for prosecution.

I think it's horrendous. If a person were to threaten the president, he'd sure as heck be in jail, but these idiots actually got close enough to do him harm, and they aren't sitting in jail. That's just crazy. How in the world did security let these 2 in? That's nuts.

Bobo, why NOT prosecute them? You're a huge supporter of the president - do you really want anybody walking in off the street, scamming their way into a private party within distance to do harm to the president? If they can do it, surely criminals or terrorists would be able to do so, too.

I think they need to make an example of this couple to the full extent of the law, to the point no one wants to risk trying it again

Yes I do support the President, and if indeed they broke the law and he wants to prosecute fine. My problem is with sploofusers who always want to draw and quarter people before they get all the facts. Now please proceed with the topic and I would appreciate sticking to the comical side of the incident and not my politics as this is not TT Pat.

I am about to take an article about this (that I have simplified) for my teenagers to read this morning. When you consider what happened, the comments of the Secret Service spokesman to the effect that everyone was well protected are hilarious.

Yes they definitely dropped the ball on that one, heads are probably going to roll.

But Michaele Salahi got herself great publicity for nabbing role on a Bravo's new reality show, Real Housewives of D.C.

Just too funny - and the Secret Service spokesman's words about how safe everyone was are priceless. Given a chance, this guy might be able to rehabilitate Cruella's image.

If you look at Michaele Salahi's facebook page, there are a lot of self-promoting photos going back weeks.

I read an article in an online Canadian news outlet, and someone who posted a comment said that even though the couple passed through a security check point with no weapons, if they were terrorists and had poison on their hands, they could have killed people through handshakes.

(The poster also pointed out that Machaele has a very visible adam's apple, implying she could be transgender or cross dresser or just someone who wants to impersonate a woman and hide his real identity. Dunno)

It is comical and kinda scary at the same time.

I think they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

This couple had a limousine parked all the time in their driveway. They were really into te big social scene and were in huge trouble financially.

I'm not sure public relations wise if it's such a good idea to prosecute this couple. I rather think this is a story any President wants to go away.

It would have been more poetic if they had made their escape in a big silver balloon......
