Where's the party?? My mouth was watering just solving the puzzle. This could be fun with some Sploofus friends.

Anything about food...I'm there!

The barbeque party is an excellent idea! What about a cyber-barbeque party...potluck style? I'll start it off just for the heck of it and let's see where it goes...if anywhere?

There may be a large turnout so I've reserved space for next Sunday at a lovely park with some tables in the shade and others in the sun.

My contribution is red and white checkered tableclothes for each picnic table.

Odile "mans" the barbecue here.

Very entertaining puzzle, but at this time of the year it must have been written by an Australian or South African

In Texas, you can barbecue at ANY time. It is certainly not seasonal.

And don't forget Bobby Flay. I'm guessing he grills all year, even in NYC. I think the man would wear a parka and grill outside.

Ha! I have been at an Alaskan BBQ where they brushed off the snow before firing up the grill!
I reckon that folks all over the planet have a barbecue whenever they feel like it, regardless of time of year, or weather.

My contribution to the Cyber-BBQ started by Deedee is the seafood skewers. I made some t'other day for a group BBQ-picnic I attended.
Don't forget to soak the bamboo skewers in water first!
I bought some marinara mix, but gave the baby octopus to Sir Sootykins (the neighbor's cat-who-thinks-he-lives-here)......coz no-one I know would particularly like it. I reckon they look like Funnelweb spiders .....

I chopped up some red and green Anaheim peppers, Spanish onion, opened a can of pineapple chunks, gathered some ripe cherry tomatoes in the veggie garden, and interspersed those with the seafood pieces (white fish, red fish, squid rings, prawns and mussels). I put each skewer on a piece of foil, and brushed with a mix of lime juice, peanut oil, crushed ginger, and finely-chopped coriander (cilantro)....they were barbecued on a hot grill and turned out VERY yummy!

Cheers, Bev

Join us! Sploofus Cyber-Barbeque Sunday, December 6, 2009 At Sploofus Park 11 am - ???

This is a list of what has been contributed to the Word Puzzle inspired Sploofus Cyber-Barbeque thus far.

*I have reserved a triple space of grills, tables and benches...one never knows how many Sploofusers will join in the festivities, and red and white checkered tablecloths to cover the tables.

*Bushyfox aka Bev, is preparing seafood skewers consisting of white fish, red fish, squid rings, prawns, mussels - whew, and cherry tomatoes, Anaheim peppers, Spanish onion, and pineapple chunks, brushed with a mix of lime juice, peanut oil, crushed ginger, and finely-chopped coriander (cilantro). Okay...I'm Bev's newest best friend!

We will not only need food...but eating implements, cups and plates...keg of beer (maybe two or three), ya know, that kind of stuff! Some favorite music...and oh...there is a baseball diamond and basketball court as well...no equipment as yet!

I'm a good old southern gal, so it will have to be the barbecued spare ribs. I thought I would also bring some corn on the cob with lots of real butter. Can't wait.

Mark me down for the corn-toss (aka corn-hole) game and two sets of horseshoes, w/ stakes. If my wife offers to play horseshoes for money, walk away quickly.
